This is an amazing build diary and just gets better and better. I have one of these kits in my stash, but it will only get the basic treatment plus one or two adaptations from this superb display of modelling. WTG I`m watching this one to the end. Good evening from 'The Dockyard'. In this weeks update I fitted two support rails that connect the upper and lower decks. Later U-boats had a much more complicated design, whereas U230, which my model is based on, had modifications added to it each time it entered into dock after a patrol. U230 was a bit of a Heinz 57 dog rather than a pedigree winner.  The only close up of U230's conning tower shows just the two supports from what I can make out. I spent another evening cleaning up glue overruns, fitting some parts that had broken off and preparing the air gun and compressor FOR THE PAINT!! Yes, the time is here folks!! The conning tower has a two tone grey camouflaged pattern, so I started by applying the lighter of the two greys first. About 5 coats with 10 mins drying time in between.
