As I posted before I was not happy with the standard of cannon supplied with this build, well I am over the moon, because after some serious research by myself and a friend Alan I have found the cannon that ticks all the boxes, and here it is ( thanks for you input Alan)

Mr T as usual is correct this is the item :-
All though the scale is not 1/48 (the cannon are 1/64) they are compatible with this buildCool

Hi everyone I have done some more planking,(I purchased 10 mtr of 2m x5m of first class planking)the planking supplied with the build is different thiknesses, I know its not critical being the first planking stage, but the planks supplied are unpredictable here are some photos :-

PS the tops of the waist and stern Bulwarks where the planks come over the top will be filed down.

At the Bow the lower plank going around the bow bulwark, is now fixed the planks with the pins in are wet having been soaked in water, and dry fitted, so when dry they will hold their curve (note the bad quality of the bottem plank)Blink

This is this weeks issue no 29, it contains another 20 planks plus an anchor.

The anchor calls for 2mm x 5mm stained walnut, I have decided to use dark wood of a thicker size giving no joins and a better finish.

In stead of using nails I will drill the wood and insert pieces of brass rod because if I use nails when I trim them the ends will show the steel core of the nail.BigGrin
