My father was a crew member on H.M.S. Carlisle, which was with the thistlegorm when she was sunk, and picked up survivors. A colleague of mine dived the wreck about two years ago, and he was amazed at the sights on board.

That brings back some great memories  About 10(ish) years ago i went on a diving holiday to Sharm el Sheikh. Towards the end of the week, we spent a whole day at the Thistlegorm. It was the highlight of the week & we had an absolutely fantastic day. There is so much sea life there, & being able to dive through the cargo holds & see all the old jeeps & motorbikes was awesome. The steam loco still strapped to the top deck was quite a sight, while the other one had rolled off onto the sea bed a short distance away. I was travelling as part of a large group from a club, so between us we hired a videographer for the day, & she followed us around down there, so we got a great memento to bring home. There is one great shot, where we found the captain's cabin, so i 'took a bath' in it for the film - i had to wash off all that seawater somehow  Well spin my nipple-nuts & send me to AlaskaCurrent Builds:McLaren MP4-23Finished007's Aston Martin DB5FinishedMillennium FalconR2-D2BTTF Delorean (Maybe)

Just wondering why they needed all those wellies in an arid place like Egypt,still i suppose having all the equipment supplyed 4 any eventuality is a bonus Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .
