Gray Crikey you are on a roll with this one :-) Quick question please if you do not mind - across the deck sections you have received so far is the planking colour consistant across the various parts? Tony Happy Modelling

Tony, yes seems ok to me. Only parts that stand out being different are where the superstructure, barbettes etc are fitted. Why do you ask? Are there issues with yours? Cheers Gray

Gray No all seems well with the parts ttat arrived so far. Did hear a report (but no pictures) on facebook of someone saying the deck that connects after the bow section in part 1 was a "different colour". May well be just one of those "red herrings" that some people like to throw in. The bits i have received all look ok. Just ordered up some studded anchor chain so when that arrives and i see if really is to the scale i need then i shall make a start. Tony Happy Modelling

Gray Have a look at this facebook picture and see what you make of it. I mentioned i had heard a few rumblings about deck issues. No comments from me but do you think we might need to watch out for this one? Tony birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

See what you mean Tony. The deck doesn’t line up an colour is not uniform. Might need to keep an eye on this and maybe look into some wash or staining to get it right

Wow, that deck mismatch is so noticeable, the difference draws your eye straight to it... Do hope you can find a solution that will rectify and make it look half decent. Even if you were to order replacements there is no guarantee the replacements would be any better.... Certainly poor quality control here..... Regards Alan

Here are some images of mine. They seem ok to me. Might go down the route of giving the deck a wash to make it look less 'plasticy'. Will decide later. Cheers Gray CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Issue 23:Hull section and Superstructure Deck. Pack contents: Upper port hull section, Connector, Superstructure deck section, Superstructure deck details, Screwdriver, Screws. The first job is connecting the new upper port hull section to the hull assembly. This follows the same pattern as before, where we align the the part with the screw holes on the hull section, and loosely screw in place with two of the silver. Next, the connector is fitted in place and screwed together using two of the silver screws provided. If there is a gap, this procedure will pull it closed. next, we join the new superstructure deck section to the section built in issue 21. This is screwed in place from underneath with three of the black screws. We add detail to the superstructure, gluing in position. Store any unused parts in a stage labelled bag. This completes Stage 23. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Issue 24:The Superstructure Deck Grows! Pack contents: Third section of the superstructure deck, Fourth section of the superstructure deck, Deck accessories, Screws. Align the two sections of the deck, with the pegs at the back so that they fit into the holes on the forward edge and so the pieces overlap. Turn over and screw into place. fit the five deck accessories into their appropriate places and glue in place. taking the previous section of deck, align with the newly assembled deck section and screw into place. You can see from the last photo just how the superstructure deck has grown, but i haven't attached them together just yet. Store any unused parts in a stage labelled bag. This completes Stage 24. Issue 25:A Hull section and Lifebuoys. Pack contents: Upper starboard hull section, Hull connector, 2x lifebuoys, Screws. Well, here is another of those very small sections of the build. Basically, it consists of adding another section of the hull as before, and gluing the two lifebuoys onto the superstructure. And that's it. Sorry Store any unused parts in a stage labelled bag. This completes Stage 25. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):
