Stage 105 Contents: Stem, Stem Frames and Stem Decorations.
Retrieve decorations C144, C144a, C144b, C144c, C144d, C144e, C144f, C144g and C144h from stage 104. Remove any burrs or flash and apply a coat of metal primer, leave to dry. Follow the painting guide provided within the instructions to paint the decorations. When dry, carefully store the decorations in a bag labelled with this stage number.
Remove the two stem halves BS1, the decoration BSA from their frets and smooth all edges to remove any ash and burrs. Glue the decoration BSA between the two stem halves BS1 ensuring the upper edges of the three parts are all aligned. Now apply some wood putty along the edges of the stem to fill the joins between the pieces, keeping the notches clear. When dry, sand the edges smooth. Note: As I’m using wood stain, I chose to use dark coloured wood putty.
Separate the frames BS2-BS10 from the fret and sand all edges smooth. Tests fit and glue the frames BS2 into the first aft notch of the stem. The frame should be positioned at a right angle to the stem. Now test fit and glue the remaining frames to the notches in the stem, making sure each frame is at right angles to the stem.
Store any unused parts in a bag labelled with this stage number.
This stage is now complete.

Very neat work Alan. I like how they have used that brass etch detail rather than trying to produce it as a wood section. Tony Happy Modelling

Martyn, Tony & Phil, thanks guys for looking in and your kind comments, always appreciated.... @Tony, the way the stem decorations are build up is very clever as you will see over the next couple of build stages.... The brass etch plate you see is just the base onto which the painted parts are attached... I'm quite impressed with it over all.... Regards Alan

Stage 106 Contents: Stem Platform, Rails, Side Walls and Gallery Parts.
Remove any burrs or flash from the gallery parts received with this stage and apply a coat of metal primer. Follow the painting guide provided within the instructions to paint the decorations. When dry, carefully store the decorations in a bag labelled with this stage number.
Retrieve the stem decorations supplied with stage 105. Remove parts BSB, BSC, BSD, BSE, BSF and BSG from the fret and apply a coat of metal primer. Once again, follow the painting guide provided within the instructions to paint these decorations.
Remove parts BS11, BS12, BS13, BS14 and BS15 from the fret then smooth the edges. Glue the two rails BS12 together, making sure the edges are aligned. Then dry sand the edges of the combined pieces. Now drill four 1mm holes along the centre of the rail, the holes should be 6mm apart. Now glue the two rails BS13 together, aligning the edges. Sand smooth then drill three 1mm holes, 5mm apart (not 6mm as stated in the instructions). Glue the assembled parts BS12 and BS13 onto the tops of the stem frames BS6 and BS8.
Paint or stain the stem with the same colour as that used for the hull. Now paint the bow platform dark brown, RAL8022.
Store any unused parts in a bag labelled with this stage number.
This stage is now complete.Gandale attached the following image(s):
