I have finally completed the build of the R2D2 but unfortunately it does not appear to be working.

On start up it does as expected but he head does not turn in both directions – it just tries to continue in one direction.

Have you any ideas? Is there somewhere or someone I can take it to be looked at please?

Does it slowly rotate, or is it slamming into the stop? My guess is that you’ve got a bad head motor. MarkWarren is our resident R2 Fault finder, and I imagine he will chime in tomorrow morning.

Hi Gareth

When I completed R2 and started him up for the first time, mine did exactly that. He would work as normal but I had to push the dome back into place. On dismantling him I took off the sensors and replaced them again. Just make sure they are correctly in position and the right way round, don’t think the tab on the frame was being picked up. Did the trick for me. Also make sure the dome is seated right.

Regards
Mark

Thank you very much for the advice. I will try this and let you know if it works.
