This was posted some time ago but was recently suggested that it could be brought up again now that I'm part of the 'team'...

I'm part of a duo that gigs locally (too old to do much more) and I'm lead vocal and guitar.
The attached video clip is part of a rehearsal of our version of Mike Oldfield - Moonlight Shadow.

Let's hear about what you guys do apart from sticking plastic, or screwing bits together...

(At least, you now know what the geezer called Roy looks like.)

Nice! My lack of musical ability is so profound that I don’t even sing in the shower, as I offend the audience,

I build models, and restore wooden canoes as well as vintage travel trailers. Besides all my DeAgostini kits, I’m seriously into the 1/12 Model Factory Hiro kits, and I prefer the early spoked wheel F1 cars. A bit of a Star Wars geek as well.

What else do I do...

I am a single parent of two amazing daughters aged 7 and 13 and this keeps my very busy but I do find some time outside of work. I am a Procurement Manager.

my main hobby is obviously building models but that is coupled with a keen interest in history, especially military history and more recently the Royal Navy particularly.

I am a keen gardener, did a garden design qualification many years ago. But my main passion other than models is music. Unfortunately never lent to play it but my eldest plays guitar. Music is always on in our house, my girls love singing to queen and my eldest saw her first metallica concert a couple of weeks ago, singing with 60,000 other fans totally blew her away.

Being retired I`ve recently started as a volunteer on the waterway that passes my flat.

4 or 5 of us work a small boat clearing up waterborne rubbish. About 3 hours on a Wednesday keeps a couple of miles of river/canal in check, but we still collect two to three dustbins full each Wednesday. Others do the canal towpaths with the canal and river trust.

The good thing about it is the appreciation we get from the narrow boaters and walkers on the tow paths.

It`s been estimated that if everyone picked up one piece of plastic a day we could be waste plastic free in the streets and open spaces in 10 years.

My attitude is don`t throw it away in the street in the first place, put it in the correct bin when you get home and we`ll be clear of plastic waste in no time.ThumpUp ThumpUp

We also give the wildlife in the attached pick a safe place to live. Love

Rest of the time I`m modelling or out and about with the missus. BigGrin

Like Derek, I’m retired and enjoying it. 3 kids keep me busy doing diy work in the homes, as I have time. I do volunteer work at a local Day Centre for senior citizens being minibus driving and general help. Hobby is collecting diecast Volkswagen models mainly 1/24 Franklin Mint, plus other makes, so detailed for the size. Bit of a VW nut really hence the Samba build. Andy.

Hi everybody

It's nice to see that besides your modeling skills, you also show talents elsewhere. Aside from the love of modeling, I am a dragon boat paddler at the "Speedform dragons Germany".Almost 4 times a week for Training on the water. I'm doing this pretty professionally. We also drive abroad. Next stop on the map on 6,7,8 September 2019 will be Amsterdam. Currently 4 times a week of training, you are already happy when the season is over and models can be built again. But i dont want to miss the water.........sorry i am the guy third row from the front left hand sideBigGrin BigGrin

Well, here's a recording I made about 25 - 30 years ago using and ancient Tascam multi-track tape deck.
I'm still quite chuffed to say every part of the recording and every instument is by me...
(Apologies for the naff quality - it is around 30 years old, from an old cassette...)

Well, my second (or coexisting) passion, besides building models, is the restoration of wooden canoes. . The oldest canoe I own was built in 1888, and I have 5 that were built before 1900.

I hold a teaching degree in Industrial Arts, have been a machinist and an NCIOC in the US Army, and had a certification in Welding. I’ve been a woodworker since I was 5, and have been restoring wooden canoes for 30 years now..I’ve taught private woodworking classes on and off since 1991, and still do, on occasion.

Other than that, I am BoPa to 7 grandsons. (Which is a really good thing, given the size of my kit stash!)

Except to build models I am like Mark also connected with boats. Only he repairs these while I "drive" them BigGrin I am a dragonboat athlete. The boat is filled with 20 paddlers, plus a helmsman and a drummer. Racing disciplines are the 200 m sprint, 500 m sprint 1000 m, 4000 m and the long distance 20 km.Wir drive throughout the year many regattas at home and abroad. Last station this year were the International Championships in Holland, where we were also very successful.

Picture shows my "Dream Team" where i am the captian from. I'm the last guy on the right.
