If like me you wanted a display case to house the build while you build it. I found a guy in Coventry who does a great case. His website is www.modeldisplaycases.co.uk.
Def recommend him. Although i did make an educated guess of the size i needed. (Hope i got it right)
I've attached a picture of mine!

I have a 1/18 case from this guy, it was excellent value and very well packaged for delivery.

The McLaren's dimensions are L:594mm H:139mm W:224mm, I hope you have ordered the right size? The parts look great in the case and should look spectacular when finished.

I wonder how this will compare in quality/price to the case DeAg say they will be offering?

Looks pretty good though! Might have to get one myself!

I tried to find the dimensions everywhere and couldn't! Only had the length which Deag supply.
I had mine made to L:650mm H:200mm W:300ww to compensate if my estimates aren't accurate.
It's really good quality and made of glass also. On top of that he was pretty much the cheapest I found!
I found a german company who did a perspex one but with no real base which was a few quid cheaper but everyone else was like £90+

The case looks great, but I think it's gonna be a close fit. Also how much did it cost if you don't mind me asking? One more thing when you ordered it, how did you describe it to them, as some of them come with a wooden base which I'm not so keen on I don't think works with a f1 car.

well, if i'm right on what i think the size will be i should have around 50mm extra each way.
It was £62.50 and then £14 p&p but as im fairly local, i drove over to pick it up.
With the base, I was given a choice of polished silver or mahogany base so i chose the polished silver.
You also get a choice of what colour floor.

I think it goes without saying that after spending that much money a display case is a must!
It's just finding the right one!
Guys above who have bought the display cases from the link, how much were these?
I'm unsure which one to go for!
Potential diorama? Or carbon fibre decal base, Abit like the amalgam plinth's or maybe mirror, I'm just not sure yet! haha
I found a website which I'll dig out which was acrylic cases and seemed to be very good for the price, but unsure how well made they will be!
Let me know the prices and what options you took! BigGrin

My display case has just arrived from the mentioned supplier. Its very very well packaged, the shipping box is huge. Loads of news paper wadding then the case itself packed in plyboard and bubble wrap.

The space on my bookshelf is already cleared despite the boss moaning, os i will set-up later today and post some pics.
