Not just hard but impossible.

It's looking fine, Chris. You can get it back a little by tapering but personally, I wouldn't worry.

I am marking out the gun ports for the second row of gun ports.
When it comes to the foremost opening in the bow, if I follow the dimensions given, the port will be across the “twin” bow formers.
Can someone confirm that this is the correct placement, please?

Hi Goddo, can confirm the bow formers are visible through the ports....You won't see them on the finished build.

The covers on those ports will be closed so you just need to dig them out enough for the doors to fit the gap.

Update on planking and gun ports.
One question, if I may: When it comes to fitting the final top two planks at the bow, would it be acceptable to glue small strips of plank offcuts on the inside to give these two planks something to adhere to?

Hi Goddo, coming along very nicely.

I wouldn't add anything to the bow strips at this stage, it shouldn't be necessary. Take a look at stages 41 and 43 of the Official build, this is when you will start working and finishing off this area, it shows how everything will be held together. Any queries, let me know....

Hi Chris

All looking good.

You are correct there is a danger that the top plank may not have much to attach to by the time you get there. The solution is to leave enough space when you lay the plank below. If it is close to the edge, then taper it back a little to provide adequate space for the top plank to sit nicely.

As Alan say, follow the instructions precisely.

Very impressive planking ,very neat and tidy Cool
Man he took his time in the sun
Had a dream to understand
A single grain of sand
He gave birth to poetry
But one day will cease to be

I have almost reached the end of the upper planking but I have one question:
The rearmost upper planks, layers 20, 21 and 22 seem to be starting to the rear of bulkhead #25.
Could someone please confirm that this correct? Looking through the photographs in the magazine, it is not very clear.
Thanks in advance.

Apologies to everyone.
I have just rewatched the official build video and that confirms that I have got the planking correct.....I think!!
