Hopefully this can be answered here, but I doubt it..

Issue 90 just came out in Japan and contained a battery pack. An actual battery, not the battery holder that came out in issue 92 in the UK.

Will this be included with all future issues for those of us who haven't received the entire run yet? Specifically Australia, as the batteries required from the UK release aren't available in Australia at all.

Thanks

Good question! I’ll see what sort of answer I can get.

A lot of why a Japan got a battery, and the rest of the world didn’t is due to differences in shipping policies between the various nations involved.

There is a lot of legislation that governs the transportation and sales of rechargeable batteries and that changes from country to country.

In the UK batteries cannot be attached to a part work that is sold in shops like newsagents etc.

Having worked in airport cargo security there is also serious regulations as to the transport of such items.

The link below highlights the issues:

Not free, the issue was 3x the price of a normal issue.

I ordered a copy of issue 90 from Amazon Japan. It was $53 shipped (it takes a few days for the order to process before it’s shipped. Now I just need to forgive out how to fully charge it and if there is some kind of initialization procedure like with the 18650s. I just don’t know how to find out the info for that. CS just keeps giving me the 18650 battery requirements guide. It’s like they have no clue that other countries do things differently for their builds. Just like CS for Eaglemoss didn’t know about the Delorean Automatic/Manual transmission debacle.

The only way you’ll know is by purchasing issue 92 from Japan, as it contains the Japanese ac adaptor and most likely contains the instructions for charging the battery.
