Hi Gadalf. I am so happy to have found this forum. Have bought my Vasa from EditionAtlas and received my last shipment before they ceased their deliveries. I live in Sweden and am therefore particularly interested in this ship. Admire your build and the photos you posted. It helped me in my construction. Agree with you about the color scheme of the hull which I will also laser. I am now at step 103. Now consider the treatment of the tire, which I also intend to treat with a hairstyle. Hope you can read my bad English. Greetings Missandra

Nice to have you aboard but you need to reduce your picture sizes to less than 150kb for them to show on the foum otherwise nobody can see them without having to download each one.

Have fun with your build.BigGrin

Stage 116 Contents: Gallery Roof and Decorations

Remove any burrs or flash from the parts supplied with this stage and apply a coat of metal primer. Now follow the painting guide provided within the instructions to paint these parts.

Retrieve the tool supplied with stage 57 and eight 2 x 3mm wooden strips supplied with stage 83. Using section ‘E’ of the tool, shape one edge of seven strips until a groove runs along the length. Now paint the seven strips light grey (RAL9002) and paint the final strip the same colour as you’ve used on the main hull.

Follow steps 8 to 17 of the instructions to fit the rails to the tops of the bulwarks, paying attention to the measurements given.

Store any unused parts in a bag labelled with this stage number.

This stage is now complete.

Thanks for your kind comments Carl, very much appreciated....Cool Cool .. You'll get your wish very soon, will soon be starting to put all the decorations in place and that's where the fun will begin. Being cast metal, it'll be fun to see how well they fit together and how much adjustment will be needed....Blink Blink Blink

Hi Alan. I will now color my ship and have decided to use stains. Now I wonder what shade you used on your stain. Have a little trouble finding the right shade. Best regards Missandra.

Hi Missandra, the colour of wood stain I used was Redwood. Just ensure you use a matt wood stain and not a wood dye. You have an element of control over where wood stain will flow but you don't have the same control with wood dye....

Thank you for your answer. Your choice of color is fine and much more similar to the one at the Vasa Museum. Don't think the original ship was painted. Best regards Missandra
