Issue 26:Forward Part of the Superstructure. Pack contents: Bridge deck, 10x Bridge accessories, 4x Deck accessories, LED holder, Cable with green light, Cable label, Screws. Thankfully, this is a bit longer issue this time. Glue the two rain hoods into the relevant slots on the port side (left) of the main bridge. The next two parts, the door and storage locker are fitted into the recesses on the angled side of the bridge deck. The hinges for the door to the left in the recess, and the hinges for the locker on the right hand side of the recess. Moving around to the front of the bridge deck, the storage unit and door are fitted. The hinges for the door should be on the left. At the rear of the bridge deck glue the door in place, again with the hinges on the left. The next door is fitted on the starboard side (right) with the hinges this time on the right. Moving on to the starboard side of the angled part of the bridge deck, the last door and locker are fitted, with the door hinges to the right and locker hinges to the left. The four fire hoses are then added, with the red part to the right. For the first navigation light, fold the cable label around the wire at the socket end. The LED is then slotted into the recess on the holder. With the bridge deck turned upside down, the LED holder is then screwed in place on the raised socket on the starboard side. Store any unused parts in a stage labelled bag. This completes Stage 26. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

 Something occurred to me AFTER assembling Pack 26. The life belts are the wrong colour  . Owning a copy of Anatomy of the Ship 'The battleship Bismarck', i doubled checked this, and i was right (hindsight is a wonderful thing!). Umm? Decisions, decisions. Paint or not to paint? Issue 27:Hull section and Navigation Light. Pack contents: Fourth keel section, Connector, LED holder, Cable with LED light, Cable label, Screws. Another short build this stage. Using the connector, the keel section is screwed to the hull assembly. Carefully wrap the label around the socket end of the cable. Fit to the bridge assembly, and screw in place. Store any unused parts in a stage labelled bag. This completes Stage 27. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Issue 28:Hull and accessories for the Bridge Deck. Pack contents: Port lower hull section, Bridge deck accessories, Port air intake cover, Starboard air intake cover, 2x LED covers(red and green), Screws. This is a tricky issue. There are quite a few fiddly little parts on the sprue, and also the instructions for the orientation of some of the parts isn't great. Firstly, the hull section is attached to the port side lower hull section with three of the screws provided. Next we attach the two air intake covers to the bridge deck. you can't get them mixed up as they are marked 'L' for port, and 'R' for starboard. apply a little glue to both. The two LED's sit in their respective housings (red for the port side and green for the starboard), and fix in place with a little glue. Next come the fiddly bits  . The real issue is the poor photography for parts 'H5 & H6'. The best way to describe them is as being like 'bicycle handle bars' (thanks World of Wayne). The 'handlebar ends want to face towards the doors on both sides. The rest are small and fiddly, but not confusing as to position. Store any unused parts in a stage labelled bag. Issue 29:Bridge Deck and Lower Mast Deck. Pack contents: Lower mast deck, 3x Decking, Bridge window panel, Lower mast deck base, 2x Guardhouse, LED Cable, Cable label, Screws. This issues sees the bridge deck come together The front part of the decking section fits tightly onto the lower mast deck, no glue needed.The next section of decking is then screwed into place using four screws. The LED cable sits into the recess on the command bridge windows. This is then screwed into place on the bridge deck so that the windows line up with their respective slots, and the LED is trapped and cannot pull free. Attach the cable label to the other end. Fit the last bit of decking to the lower mast deck base, again without gluing. The two guardhouses DO need gluing in place into their respective slots on the deck. The bridge deck structure, lower mast deck slot together, then turning the structure upside down the lower mast deck structure, lower mast base and bridge structure are then screwed together, making sure the wiring is tidily out of the way and not trapped. Store any unused parts in a stage labelled bag. This completes Stage 29. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Issue 30:Hull section and Rangefinder. Pack contents: Lower starboard hull section, 2x half director tower, Rangefinder dome, 2x Rangefinder arms, Screws. The lower starboard hull section is screwed in place with three screws. Taking the two halves of the tower, these are glued together, aligning the locating pins. The dome is attached similarly with a little glue to keep it in place. The two rangefinders are then glued into place, but take note of the direction of the arms (they need to point forward when attached to the deck structure). Glue in place on the starboard side, aligning the peg. Store any unused parts in a stage labelled bag. This completes Stage 30. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Gray, is this one worth it? It’s got some amazing features, but the panel seams put me off.
(Which is to say I’m tempted!)
