Good evening from 'The Dockyard'.

This week i have finished the rear torpedo tube door by fitting the grab handle and also a drain.

The drain plug is at the bottom of the tube rear door.

The next job was to make the piston. This device is pushed up behind the loaded torpedo, compressed air then pushes against the piston which in turn forces the torpedo out of the tube. When not in use, it is stored to the side of the torpedo tube.

I started by making a cylinder using 0.25mm thick plastic sheet. Blanked off one end and notched out four cut-outs around the circumference on it's open end.

I made the piston adjusters using 0.8mm diameter brass tube and 0.6mm brass rod, joined together with Albion Alloys brass 'Connecto'; similar to how i made the guard rails for the conning tower.

All three items I've mentioned photographed together. They all require painting, but first i have to fit some of the pipework, which i'll start next week.
