Help wanted Yesterday our puppy got into the back bedroom as the door must have been open... Anyway i require help..... I have been planking the bow area and working my way down to the keel then disaster struck. Our pup as chewed the bow and some ribs so how can i get replacement sections... They are ribs 13-14 15-16 19 also some of the small bow pieces...... Also can anybody tell me what magazine number these parts are with.... I cant put up a picture of the damage as im using a spare phone while my new one is awaiting delivery...... Building.

If it fits in their mouth it gets chewed.  Anyway, from your info I think you need issues 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 plus maybe issue 1. There is some good news though.  I have all the wooden parts for issues 1, 2 and 3 that you can have for the cost of postage. You may get 4, 5 and 7 on ebay. Send me a PM with your address and I`ll get them off to you. The puppy is literally in the dog house  Anyway turns out that the door lock is faulty.... Managed an hr on thursday removing bits of damage a piece at a time its time consuming.... Building.

Well im down to the ribs now and removed the damaged planks after another 2hrs... With the parts from delboy it looks possible to glue and clamp new pieces of ribs next to the old ones some pieces i will have to make and shape and then use some form of 2pac filler....... Anybody any ideas of a decent 2pac filler that is solid once dried and easy to sand and take a pin to hold a plank whilst the glue dries...... Building.

Hi Ant, Good to see you are on the route to recovery of your Vic.  I don`t know if the information in the link below may help, but take a look as you may be able to adapt the method I used to repair a rouge part. https://forum.model-spac...aspx?g=posts&t=6764

Regards delboy271155 (Derek) Cheers for the link i will have a look later when the missus hits catch up tv for an hr..... Im 7 layers of planking up from the lower gun ports,so what i have done is to snip the damaged planking down the sides of the ribs leaving a small piece still attached to the rib. I then use my scalpel blade to run down the join edge of the two planks and slowly pick away the glue... So basically starboard and the port side have staggered edges. The curved bow im using the pieces you sent Del and carefully under cut a mm so i can sand... That is working for me so far. The bow pieces i have realsed is i make a card template i can work from them.. Its become easier than expected tbh.. The bow is the hardest but im in no rush.... I also have two bent planks ive made for the bow to help aswell.... I have most of sunday to myself so im hoping to have the bow front damaged pieces marked and cut if not just marked ready.... Building.

Well quite a productive day today without any hinderence from the missus or the puppy (Logan). I have managed 2hrs here and 2hrs there today.. I bought some of the ronseal 2pac wood filler and i intend to use it to fill chewed edges.. Anyway ive cut a few of the spare pieces from Del and glued and clamped them next to the existing keel.. Also ive cut n shaped a few pieces for the damaged bow sections and another few hours and they will be glued and clamped...... So far so good....... Building.

Found a major problem last night the front bow former as a split running central cant believe i never seen the split when i started..  Im looking to see if i can remove the whole bow former and replace it.. Will replacing the bow former be a hard task as i have not looked at it since yesterday evening...... Building.

Ive been using gorilla wood glue..... Ive an idea though... The front bow former you sent if i cut it level across the top of the bow formers and then glue and clamp that to the existing front bow former that should make it solid. Then the bow formers if i remove the thickness of the front bow former from them then that would not in any way change the bow length..... I then Just require bow formers 10, 11, 11a....... Hope that makes sense......... Building.

Hope that makes sense......... If my memory serves me well gorilla wood glue does not release easily, so a repair would be the quickest method. That said the method you have noted above could bring some issues later on in the build. Could you post a pic of the damage you are trying to repair to see if there are any alternative solutions. In the mean time I would get some of the aliphatic wood glue shown in the link below. Its a very good adhesive, but if required can be released with very hot water applied just to the joint. https://www.jperkins.com/products/MDP5524821

Oh i may aswell just give up..... Just not my day at all now..... I brought victory downstairs onto the kitchen table to have a good look etc and i ended up dropping the darn thing.. Lost my footing on the first step down and my knee gave way and try to grab the hand rail with my good hand when she went into orbit hitting the hard floor at the bottom..... All i need..... Damage report coming.... Building.
