Trying to figure out if I have messed up. My transom is a good 5-10 mm high compared to the instructions. Have I done something wrong?

I can't see where you've gone wrong if at all. It all looks good to me... I'd leave as is with a view to possibly lowering the top of the transom some time later.....Cool Cool

Just a suggestion but wondering if anyone is at a similar stage to you and could measure the height of their side frames from that notch to the top of the frame and see how that compares to yours.

I am just starting my build, received the first months shipment yesterday. I will let you know when I get to that stage. May be a bit...

Hi Square Wheel!
I can't see how you could have gone wrong either, as the cut outs in the transom match perfectly with the stern sides. Looking at the photo on the guide, is that an extra section of wood along the top of the side or just a difference in the grain of the wood? I would go with Alan, either re-shape the transom later or else add a strip of wood to bring the sides up to it. It shouldn't make too much difference to the ship's appearance either way.
