morning everyone,
well the Fokker Dr1 arrived this morning. after much searching of various national diy stores & tool merchants I have found the wood stain at a local (to me - in Suffolk - chestnut products) wood turners supply firm, however, it is spirit based rather than water based. the kit will be going into my stash, to be made when it gets warmer [its finger numbing today] so that I can apply the stain in the open without getting a banging headache from the stain aroma!

Hi all well I'm calling this done, I intended to leave the woodwork showing and obviously never intend to fly it so i see no point in buying a prop for it.

Now it's done I have no idea what I'm going to do with it as it is huge so it will probably end its days in the shed hanging from the roof.

Ken

That is one of the issues of large models in as much as to how to show them off.

I have one of these aircraft that came out as a partwork a good number of years ago now. As much as i would love to make a start on it just not sure what i would ever do with it if i ever finished it.

Still so long as you got some entertainment out of building yours thats the main part of it.

Look forward to seeing your next Cutty Sark updates.

Tony

morning kpnuts,
I have enjoyed your posts on the hobby king Fokker dr1; mine is still in its box in the stash pile. as a suggestion why don't you put a prop on it & donate as a permanent loan to a local transport museum or aircraft museum like Hendon, Duxford etc. as it seems a pity that others can't appreciate it as well as forum members etc.
I will probably do this my self on completion of mine. as the Ipswich transport museum & Martlesham flight tower museum are local to me.
