Hi shipmates Here's an alternative idea for the footrope supports. Having tried the magazine method of twisting the supplied brass wire, I was not very happy with the finished result. I have achieved a finish that is much more pleasing to me by the use of brass eyepins such as the type we used for the handrails of the grating companionways on the upper gun deck. After purchasing a few packs of the eyepins from Cornwall Model Boats, I carefully drilled holes in underside of the yardarm with a 0.7mm drill at the required points on the plans and super glued them into place. This method provided me with much more control over the length - being able to achieve a more uniform drop on each footrope support. Happy building Daffy09

See how you get on with the yard footrope supports, the wire looping of the deadeyes is a similar process but lots of them, once you've done a few you'll soon get the hang.
