Hello,

I seem to be having a problem. So, I've come to stage 52 for the footbrake and have gone to fit the spring for it. First it says the spring is from parts 20 but is from 21. After finding the spring, I was unable to get it in and weakened so much it snapped.
After asking twice for a replacement from customer services, I received a replacement parts 21 but found that it has a different spring to what it shows in the instructions. Also on the build diary on the forum, before the spring is fitted it shows the spring I have been sent but then shows a different one fitted.
Can anyone help me please?

Thanks

Dave

Most odd and hopefully you will get a better update but i was just looking at the online build instructions and it mentions pack 20 but the spring as you say is pack 21.

It appears to be a long spring. And the online build instructions show the long spring being put in place.

But on the official build parts in pack 21 show a short spring.

On the official build the parts are shown with a short spring but when installed it looks like the longer spring from the online build instructions.

Maybe let the chaps on here what you have been working with - long or short

Looking at the span the spring has to cover i would guess the longer spring is what is needed.

Hope you get it sorted.

Yes it's strange. On the PDF instructions it shows the long spring in parts 21 not 20 and illustrated E but now has a short one in the replacement pack.
Going through the rest of the instructions, I can't find the small spring anywhere. To be honest, it won't fit if it's a replacement.
Also, just found this -
