Hello:
Exactly half of my builds have been full-kits and the other have been monthly subscriptions. I really like to get the delivery of a full kit and to not worry about delays and just proceed in building. On the other hand, at times I think the quality of my work is better when I only do a one section at a time. Just curious as to the preferences of other builders. thanks BB

Welcome to the forum and look forward to seeing your posts.
What do you like to build generally or do you vary it?
I must admit that the last kit I bought (HMS Victory), I got as a full kit. It hurt a bit to pay out in one go though!
Even though I have been through the entire kit about three times, and judging by the numbered packages, everything seems to be there I am still not quite sure if I will find something missing further down the line.
The quality of the parts is first class and I feel a little happier knowing I've got it all, particularly when I read
about members waiting for months for "back orders".
Whatever you decide, good luck and post a build diary. It really helps both you and other forum members.

Currently, I've done the Porsche, Jaguar, VW Beetle, Thunderbird 2, currently involved in the X-Wing and anxiously awaiting my first packs of the GT and the new Agora kit. I plan to tackle something in wood this spring. Not sure how that will go but I'll give it q whirl. I got back into kit building about a year ago. I hadn't touched anything other than Lego kits with my kids since I was about 14. Now I'm 51. Extremely relaxing hobby.

I am quite impatient so I like to get full kits, but sometimes (like the gt40 and falcon) I just cant wait.I generally dont start building until I have the whole kit. Having said that for the ship kits I think getting monthly parts is a great idea so you dont have a massive box full of different sizes of wood to sort through.I also find ship kits a bit of a slog sometimes so having the build broken up helps avoid getting bored with a model.
I agree about relaxation.Its good to tune the world out and glue or screw something together.

I prefer a subscription. I really enjoy being able to build for an hour or two, then put it away for a month. I just reinforced that opinion by waiting til I had 72 X-Wing issues in hand before I did any real assembly. My rational was that I was going to do a total repaint, so I wanted all the wing parts in hand....
