Doesn’t say on the site that it’s a trial. So I will sign up for this. Looks fantastic with so many working features. Andy.

I saw that.it looks a bit toy like to me with the really oversized rivet detail.I do like the base though. That is really cool.

Here`s "MY" thoughts: Blink Blink

Would seriously think it is a trial.

Agree with Darbyvet that the rivet scale is way out, as were the rivets on the London Bus.

Did Deag miss out on this? For those who have built/building the Deag version I suspect they may not want to invest in another Spitfire.

Would I invest in this version? Most probably not. Even though the base is very good with its actions, I don`t think the main item of the plane is up to spec (even with all the moving details).

So in conclusion:

Not one for me and I love the "Spit". Mellow Mellow

The choice is still yours though. BigGrin BigGrin

Was listening to Wayne Green last night and this Hachette Spitfire goes live early February.

Wayne apparently is covering the official build for Hachette on his “World of Wayne” channel.

I was looking on the Hachette site last night and see the spitfire is now available to order.

While i was tempted initially i am somewhat put off by the fact they are running it to 120 issues with the last 20 issues being given over to some ground equipment and figures to make a “re-arming diorama”.

That picture shows the spitfire off its stand which is interesting because i had assumed all the working elements were wired through the rear support tube of the display stand. Maybe i have assumed wrong.

I guess if you just want to build the aircraft you could cancel at issue 100.

After weighing up its not one that i will be going for.

To be honest i am struggling to find anything at the moment that really appeals to sign up to.

Maybe as the year progresses that “one special I must have” will appear but as to what that might be who knows.

Tony

I would be interested to see how you get on with this one steve.

Was really tempted but having looked at the size of the model and taking into account the base will be the same i would really struggle to find a place to put it.

Surprised its not been advertised on tv, unless i have missed the ads of course.

Thanks for the link Steve.

Think these sort of ads are missing from TPTV which is my favourite channel for oldy films.

Going to have to be a watcher on this one though as its too big a “footprint” for me to have space to display or even store it.

Hope you enjoy building yours.

Tony

It actually seems surprising to me that there are not more premium model companies with service in the U.S. I may be mistaken but think it is just DeAgostini and Agora.

Same. There’e EagleMoss too, but that isn’t really saying much...still really bummed they cancelled the Ferrari F40 build. I wish there were other providers, or even that the current providers would develop some more overseas partnerships.

I’ve recently taken to ebay to import some of those that are unavailable here, but it really sucks to have to pay the middle-man fees and high shipping costs. I’m sure companies face similar issues, but surely there would be some degree of understanding from the consumers. I would think they could pass on some of those costs, assuming they too spend more when importing, no?
