I am now going to attempt the yard to the foremast.
The yard is just tied on with a bit of thread at the moment.

I am a bit lost to where the rigging rope No 77 goes, all the others make sense to me, but rope No 77 Just seems to go vertically up the way, I don't know where it goes or what it does, Can anyone help.

Hi Mo
Rigging line 77 is the sheet for the topsail. It is attached to the bottom corner of the sail then follows down through the blocks to the belaying pins at the bottom of the mast.

Sheets attach to the clews (bottom corners) of a sail to control the sail's angle to the wind.

Hope that helps.

Let see if I understand this,
rigging line 77, goes from the belaying pin in the deck, up through the block shown, and gets tied on to the bottom corner of the sail above the yard I am working on.

Thanks for looking in Tony.

It does look complicated, but you only have to look at each rope one at a time, Don't get confused with all the lines and numbers, Just concentrate at one at a time,
I look at it this way.

1. The yard has to held up in place, Its held in place with 2 ropes both No 71, the rope goes through 2 block and tackles and get tied of on the belaying pin, all identified on the drawing.

2. I have to hold the yard level, again this is done with 2 ropes, one on the left and one on the right. No 72, again tied of to belaying pins on the deck, again marked,

3. and then carry out the rest of the rigging as marked.

Break it down to one rope at a time.
Well I hope it all works out, I have not done it yet. lol

will report back
