Thanks for looking in and commenting Roy I think it’s a great kit (just wish the plastic pipes were a better fit )

Coming along nicely. I have found some hoses need warming a little to stretch and others require a small touch of superglue otherwise they fall off. Alec Built: Bluenose, Arab Dhow, HMS Bounty, Hummer H1, D51, Spitfire,E type Jaguar. In Progress: HMS Victory, , Yamaha YZR-M1

Alec Thanks Alec I don't know about you, but if i could have found a replacement for those plastic pipes i would have done. I just think they look horrible and spoil an otherwise great looking model. But at that size....

Pack 11 In this pack, we get the air reservoir, left and right frame parts, and the cross members. Stage 40, The Air Reservoir. The valve simply pushes onto the valve body. It's a good fit so no glue needed for me. The valve body is then located on the two pins on the inside of the tank half '2', and the other part of the tank pushed into it's locating pins. I didn't find this such a good fit, and found it needed a little extra thin glue and a clamp to close the shut lines. Another issue came when fitting the three straps. The pins bent slightly when seating the locating pins, meaning they wouldn't sit flush, so again used a little glue to keep in place. The coupling simply pushes into the locating holes on the valve body. The tank sits inside the tank cradle. A plug pushes into a hole on the support half. It will only sit in one way, so cannot be fitted wrongly. The two halves of the support are pushed together, and mounted to the side of the tank. The holes weren't a great fit so i used a pin vice to widen them slightly, and then applied a spot of glue. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Stage 41. The left frame. The upper frame support piece is fitted to the frame and screwed in from behind. The lower frame support is attached in the same way. The frame is then attached to the left hand side of the engine with the type 'V' screws supplied. It's really starting to look the part now CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Thanks Alan, your comments are always appreciated On with the build. Stage 42. the Cross members. This is where i ran in to a problem. The lower cross member would not allow the screw to seat properly. You can see from the photos that the screw sits proud of the member itself. The first image shows just how far i could screw the first one in. I thought about either drilling or tapping it out, but in the end decided to ask customer services for a new one (this proved to be a blessing, as you'll find out later. So after receiving a new cross member from CS (thank you), i could now proceed with the build. This one slotted in like it should, and allowed the screw to fully seat. Next, we assemble the two halves of the upper cross member. These just slotted together, no glue needed. The connector inserts into the supplied tube, with minimal wiggling from a cocktail stick to open the tube slightly. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Issue 43: The right frame. We don't actually do anything with the parts received for this issue. If not done previously, we attach the pipe added in stage 9 to the engine. Here, i differed slightly from the instruction, which tell you to fit the tank assembly. I firstly attached the connecting tube pipe to the tank assembly. Here is where i had another problem, and because i had asked for another Issue 42 was able to remedy it (of a sorts). The instructions tell you to retrieve the pipe from issue 42, and cut to 100mm. my pipe was only 90 mm, so fell way short. I checked with what i had received from CS and that one was the same. Rather than try to get another replacement issue, i decided to join the two pipes i had. Luckily, a paper clip was the right size to act as a joiner, so i snipped a small piece off, inserted it into the pipes ad glued them together (told you requesting a replacement would be a blessing ). I then attached one end to the other peg on the tank assembly, then fitted the assembly to the engine (easier than trying to fit the pipes afterwards). The top cross member then slots into the left hand frame. And that completes this Pack. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Alec Thanks Alec, you're not wrong there! On with the build. After a prolonged wait for Pack 12 i received not only this pack, but Pack 13 as well The first problem was that one of the threaded holes in Stage 44 that holds the engine in the frame was not threaded enough to allow the screw to seat (see 3rd photo). After info from Alemo (thanks Alec) i was able to drill out where the thread should have been, and retap it using an old 'type V' screw. Once that was done i could then mount the engine to the right hand frame. The lower suspension mount and gas cartridge are attached next, completing Stage 45. Stage 46 sees us attach a couple of brackets to the top of the radiator, and the Lambda probe pipes and gaskets to the exhaust. I found it easier to fit the exhaust gaskets in place on the engine block, then push the header pipes into place (easier to line up). As Alec says, with the exhaust mounted and attached to the exhaust bracket, it's starting to look like a motorbike CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):
