Well after a lot of deliberation I have decided that this is my last post on this Forum especially after a rather patronising reply from Admin about the site. So I would like to say thanks to all the brilliant modellers and builders ot there who have inspired me with their builds . It's been fun. Happy building and most of all stay safe out there Martyn Building ? Completed. Soliei Royal . Sovereign of the Seas . Virginia . Scotland . San Felipe . That's a shame Martyn. I don't think anything said by anyone was meant to be patronising, but more in the spirit of 'tongue-in-cheek' fun.
Your builds are always amazing and well received even if replies and comments are thin on the ground at times which is something we all suffer from. My own large car builds appear to be rarely looked at but it doesn't put me off posting.
Please, maybe take a little break and reconsider. It would be a shame to lose you from the forum.
Roy.

Hi Martyn Hopefully you have just made a hasty decision in these unusual times of lock down etc. Can make people a bit more tense etc being restricted from what we normally do. I for one can write posts which on reflection can easily be taken the wrong way and not in the spirit it was intended. Anyway hope you have second thoughts and return to the fold.

H i Martyn, it will be a shame to lose you from this forum as your posts and contributions have always been appreciated so much. As said above, the written word has no intonation or humour thus leading to lots of misunderstanding and misinterpretation. I am sure you have had work emails that say one thing and mean another? While I am obviously unaware of your problem in detail I can also sympathise with your frustrations regarding orders/non orders arriving, lack of interest from CS etc. Maybe a week or so to cool down, rethink and come back to the fold. What ever your decision, stay safe and well during these horrible times. Chris

just take a little time out martyn, i think when you see something in print you can take it the wrong way, seeing how you love this forum it would be a shame to leave it, just pm the admin first and see what he says about his reply. hope this helps martyn, good luck.
regards steve.

Hello Martyn,
I for one would hope that you might reconsider, after a period of reflection, and maybe come back to your mates. You are a valued member and one of the more active members on here. There has been a lot of discussion on here in the last week (which I helped to instigate for better or worse) about the lack of new members posting and contributing so to lose an older more established member such as yourself right now would just exacerbate the current feeling of boredom, disinterest, call it what you will, but we could really do with keeping people like yourself to help push the forum forward to something better?
I do believe that the image loading problems are likely to be resolved at some point soon, though it will involve waiting just a bit longer? This used to be a good forum (it can be again) with some good modellers, yourself included, and having made over 3000 posts since joining, it would be very sad indeed to lose you too. I myself have been looking at other forums recently, as I've made clear on the forum but I am prepared to give Deagostini/Modelspace a bit more time to sort out the problems in a hope that we may revisit the kind of engagement that we once had on here. If it doesn't happen then as I've said, I will be moving on to pastures new myself.
I do hope that you'll keep your membership open, maybe disappear for a while if you have to but it would great if you did return one day and with an assured welcome from the old brigade that are still here when you do?
I think also, as has been suggested, that the intention/meaning of words written that have clearly upset you always carry the possibility of being misinterpreted especially if there are no emojis used which can often go some way to clarifying what sort of mood the author has intended to portray?
Please reconsider mate, but if you decide to leave then all I can say is thanks for your time and input on the forum, it has always been valued, and know that you will be missed. It will be a loss to this forum but undoubtedly a gain to any other forum that you may choose to join.
All the best and stay safe in these awful times,

In re-reading my response to Martyn, I fully understand why he took offense.
Iād like to extend a public apology to Martyn, and to all of you for having been subjected to my completely unprofessional response to an ongoing topic that does have validity.

Thankyou Mark, that is a very noble gesture, I for one accept and know that you will do your best to sort this image problem out, just as soon as it can physically be done. As humans we all make mistakes from time to time and that must be taken into account by others when trying to smooth the way forward after any disagreements. Mistakes are just what they are - mistakes!
I think you yourself must in some way also be owed an apology for the persistent pressure put on you from members to resolve this image problem. I personally wasn't aware that the forum had been mapped with a view to moving to a new platform, when I opened my topic that started this current discussion, so I feel a little guilty for stirring things up again, though that wasn't intended as I only asked where everybody was and why was the forum so quiet? The discussion then evolved into a major moan about the image problem being the major cause of the quietness, though as you've already stated, the anger and frustration from some members does have some validity.
Please accept my personal apology Mark, and let us all move forward to a better forum just as soon as it is physically and technically possible to do so.
As has been said already, I do hope that Martyn will change his mind and stay on the forum, where he will always be welcomed.

Can I say a big thank you for all the messages on here and by pm from the brilliant members on this wonderful forum. And to Mark your apology is greatly appreciated and excepted. I was probably a little bit miffed that day by the way this great forum is going. As a ex member of the FSTeam I know how hard they work to keep this forum together for very little thanks so try not to give them a hard time well maybe a little bit but not a lot š . The main reason for me leavening is the way Deag is treating the forum and it's customers with basically a like it or lump it attitude which is a great shame. Well that's me done. Thank you again and most of all stay safe out there Martyn Building ? Completed. Soliei Royal . Sovereign of the Seas . Virginia . Scotland . San Felipe .
