Just looking forward a bit to Stage 53-6
Quote” Have the 1mm brass wire (Stage 43) and the right side of the cockpit made in Stage 44 ready. Cut and shape three pieces of brass wire like those shown in the photograph (look at the following step to see where they fit”

Nothing like precise instructions with accurate dimensions LOL Laugh LOL

Hi Gray,

It's great to see your build taking shape I know the effort you have put in, and it is a lovely kit to build there should be more on the Forum, I still have to finish mine but with a house move it just got put aside.

Great work

Regards

Trev

BigGrin Hi Trev, thanks for looking in. It is a great kit on the whole, but compared to what’s on offer these days from the likes of Hachette, just a little dated. Don’t get me wrong, if I could marry the engine detail and electrics package from Hachette with the wooden body design and metal skin of this one (no panel gaps!), this would be my perfect model ThumpUp . At least this one has the retractable undercarriage and rotating prop.

That’s always a problem moving house, but I hope you get back on yours soon.

BigGrin Happy VE Day folks Woot Woot

Due to lockdown, there's not much celebrating going on so thought i'd spend some more time on my Spitfire (apt don't you think?).

Here are the last steps for Stage 53. Engine bay support frames are sanded, nose re-enforcements fitted, and brass wire bent to shape and glued into position in the cockpit. I've actually used the 1.5mm wires, but don't think it matters (artistic licence) BigGrin .

BigGrin Hi All,
Did a small update today, and finished Stage 54, the engine cover. It's much easier to build it situ, so as to get the correct shape and making it sit perfectly on top of the engine frame (thanks again for the tip Delboy!)

Good to see you forging ahead with this one.BigGrin

I`m happy to help where I can and all is looking good to date. Only thing is that you are rapidly heading to pass where I`m at with my build. There are six covering plates to fit between stages 59 and 63 which I have not done, but when they are done I`ll be complete to stage 63.Blink Blink When? don`t know. LOL

I`m still open for questions if needed and I`ll give my best advice.
