I seem to recall that when all this first started, it was implied that R2 could be controlled over the internet - i.e. I have R2 at my shop and have him patrol while I access him from home occasionally to get visual confirmation that all is good.
After about a year of him being completed, but bricked, I finally got a new MCU a couple of weeks ago and got him up and running. Now I see no mentioned of this feature.
Am I totally misremembering?

Remote access was originally planned, but it dropped off the list of features years ago.

Well, drat. It would have been great to have a security droid, even if it didn't have integrated blasters.
