Have you got the original DeAgo Build Diaries at all? They're better than the magazine instructions.

If you size your images to below 145kb they will show directly on the page.
That way, people don't have to download them.
You'll get a lot more views and comments...

I put a smear of automotive grease on my landing ramp pins just to ensure a smooth drive. Don’t know whether it helped. Hasn’t caused any problems thus far.

Thanks Roymattblack, I was loading from my mobile phone which was a pain.

I used to follow the deago online instructions but never downloaded them. Not have a problem with the mag ones, though I am not going in order as I need to do some mods on certain things.

S4Simon, I have smoothed the pins and have found that the ramp works perfectly. I have a video of it but not sure if I can load it on this site.

Here are some more.

Glad to see another (Aussie) Perth based Deago MF builder on here, and hoping that you’re enjoying it too !
Finished mine towards the end of 2019, but I’m afraid I didn’t have the courage to share the build on this website...

However, if you or anyone else is interested - I was able to share it on Facebook. It’s under ; Gerard MacDonald

Good luck with your’s mate, and will be looking forward to seeing more BigGrin

Thanks Gedmac.

Some more progress, with this current climate I hope to get into it a bit more.

Done some more painting of the underside, lots of time consuming masking. Put together the cockpit and did a light test, still some more detail painting to go on this one. Speaking of which, I am waiting on a new airbrush for the detail work so decided to tackle the Paragrafix gunports. When it came time for the decal placement I needed a way to line up the holes for the decals. Solution - I created my own light box from scrap I had laying around. Turned out great, though I did rip a couple of the decals, especially the one around the centre.

Enjoy.

Next up are the gun turrets. Used the Paragrafix sets for these and they didn't turn out too bad. Had a couple of issues with the decals but overall happy with them.
Finished up one mandible and have started the weathering process as well as the underside. Once the underside is finished I can start installing the electronics.
Slowly getting there, lots of paint detail to go with this one.

BigGrin Only just spotted this! Great progress, and i like the idea with the light box ThumpUp

I see you are using the Paragrafix upgrade kits. How do you rate them? Easy to use?

Cheers

Thanks, the light box certainly helps with lining up the decals.

Paragrafix sets are fantastic, though if you are new to these it takes some getting used to. Some sets are easy, others can be more complicated. Just take your time and understand the instructions.

Ok first layer of weathering done. Used oils for the first time, and was really happy with the result. More layers to go.

Some more progress on the build. Got most of the electronics installed and the interiors done. Came across an issue I didn't foresee and that was that the ramp mod I installed isn't to the same scale as the kit interior parts. So I had to remove part of the hallway close to the ramp section and put a mirror behind it.
As a newb to electronics I did my own lighting for the interior, but It didn't quite come out how I would of liked, but for the most part it will be displayed covered up anyway.
Now on to detailing the top half with the 3d printed exhausts.
Also installed a new main engine light up feature from Falcon 3D parts as well as a new engine grill which adds a lot more details to the part.
Enjoy
