Hi everyone,

So I just finished this build, loved every minute, however huge anticlimax when I tried to start R2 for the first time. I followed all the instructions on preparing the batteries. They all individually say "FUL" on the single charger. I activated the battery by plugging it into mains, on and off. When I go to start him up I get a red light and he bumps forward, but that's it. No moving head, and none of the buttons work. The red light stays on the whole time.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I just finished re-seating each cable and now the head moves. However it moves very fast (as noted in some posts here e.g. https://forum.us.model-s...spx?g=posts&t=32847) and then starts flashing purple. If I wait about 10 seconds or so, the startup sequence finishes and everything works. Everything except that the head still spins very fast crashes into the bumper when it moves.

I’m glad you have got some of it sorted. As for the head moving fast, the guide does cover this issue. The link is where Mark Adams has given in the last post. However, here is what it reads.

Head Movement problems
If you are having problems with the head rotating and stopping more than halfway round, check that the two sensors at the back of the upper body, that detects the flange on the dome, is working and seated correctly. A small adjustment will usually correct this.
Some members have had issues with the head moving very quickly and slamming into the sensors stops. Again, check that the dome pivot is seated right, and check the wiring on the dome motor is correctly in position. This usually corrects the issue, however, in a few circumstances a new motor and replacing the cable is necessary. Please contact C/S for a replacement motor.

Hope that helps

Mark
