Pack 8Stage 36: Forward starboard fuselage frame. Stage 36 Contains: Forward starboard fuselage frame, 25x BM screws. In this stage, we continue to build the forward fuselage frame, this time adding the starboard side. The frame is added as per the port side, with the new section sitting under the frame assembly started in Stage 34. The screws are a little more awkward to get to because the port frame obstructs the holes. Just take your time, and make sure the screws go in straight. The next section is not explained very well in the instructions. It just says 'align the holes' without mentioning the best way to do that. I found if you hold the model upside down, and thread the rear (joined) section of the forward fuselage frame through the large opening from underneath at a 45 degree angle, you are almost there. The first two tabs on the fuselage for the screws need to sit on top of the middle frame. Secure these four points first with BM screws, then move forwards inserting screws as you go. Where the screws sit under frames P093 & P094 fitted in Stage 32, you may find it easier to remove them first. You should have 5 screws left over. We now replace the upper part of the fuselage we removed in stage 31, using the new BM screws supplied. Loosely fit the outside screws first, followed by the inside. Once all screws are in place, tighten down fully. This completes Stage 36. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Stage 37: Fuselage nose bottom frame. Stage 37 Contains: Fuselage nose bottom frame, Bracket, Bar, BM screws, SM screws, MM screws. Before starting this Stage, it would be a good idea to remove the RF antenna fitted to the exterior of the cockpit in Stage 3. Because we will be laying the model upside down, i would also mask off the canopy area too to avoid damage. If you look at Bar D063, you will notice that the outside edges taper outwards. This is the way to orientate the bar when fitting it, to follow the contours of the fuselage frame. Bracket D062 sits over the post inside the nose, with the screw positioned to the rear. Attach with a BM screw. When inserting the frame into the nose of the fuselage, you may need to pinch the frame ends together slightly to get everything to fit. Now you have to do the opposite to get the end of the frames over the bracket edges, so that the frame sits flush with the edge of the fuselage. You will know when it's in place as it just clicks over the sides of the bracket. Fit the two MM screws in place to secure the frame to the fuselage. Screw the front end of the fuselage nose bottom frame D061 into position with six MM screws. The rear end is fixed in place with four BM screws. Fix the stringers supplied in Stage 31 and 32 to the underside of the fuselage frame. The two slots sit into the frames P093 & P094 fitted in Stage 32. Align the outer holes and secure with two CM screws. This completes Stage 37. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Stage 38: Port afterburner fairing. Stage 38 Contains: Afterburner flange, 6x Fairing flaps, 15x FP screws. To construct the port afterburner fairing, we simply attach each flap in turn to the flange. The edges of the flaps overlap the flap to it's right slightly. Initially, screw each flap in hand tight, then tighten down fully once all flaps are in position. This completes Stage 38. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Stage 39: Port afterburner nozzle. Stage 39 Contains: Afterburner ducting, 6x Afterburner nozzles, Cap, FP screws. Construct the afterburner nozzle by fixing the nozzle pieces in the same manner as the fairing, except this time they overlap the piece to the left. Each nozzle piece is attached to the afterburner ducting using one FP screw. Once all of the ducting is in place, tighten down fully. The Cap isn't used at this Stage, so store safely in a Stage-labelled bag. This completes Stage 39. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Stage 40: Port afterburner. Stage 40 Contains: Afterburner, 4x FP screws, 2x GP screws. Taking the assemblies from stages 38 and 39, firstly insert the afterburner duct inside the nozzle flaps and into the flange. Place the afterburner onto the afterburner duct and secure it in place with a GP screw. Rotate the afterburner until the screw holes align with those on the flange and secure with three FP screws. This completes Stage 40, and Pack 8. Store any part safely in a Stage labelled bag. EDIT: Sorry guys, but for whatever reason, it looks like the powers that be have ultimately decided that this official build will not be supported. So it is with regret that I have to announce termination of this project. I wish all builders of this particular kit all the very best.Regards Gray AKA CaptnBirdseye CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):
