Hi Mick
It sounds like a power problem, maybe with the batteries. A troubleshooting guid to help can be found here.
Troubleshooting Guide

Pay particular attention to the battery contacts in the battery box. It also shows how to check if there is the right voltage.

Hi Mick
Sometimes the contacts on the batteries don’t make contact in the battery box. Also thoroughly check the cables making sure there is a good contact and not inverted.

Good luck

Mark
