Issue 26 - Contains the left-hand upper & lower tension rod diffuser; and has instructions for Stage 2 of assembling the gearbox cowl.

Fitting the tension rod diffuser to the gearbox cowl - Test fit the tension rod diffuser upper and lower parts to the gearbox cowl to check the fit and where to apply glue.
Apply glue and insert a type 'E' screw through the hole of the lower tension rod diffuser and tighten carefully, (at this stage it does not matter if the tension rod assembly is slightly loose on the tension rod stay).

Attaching the left gearbox cowl to the gearbox - Test fit the cowl onto the gearbox, fit the cowl in place; and to avoid damaging the silver paint, stick masking tape around the screw location area.
Then insert a type 'A' screw (supplied with issue 25) through the hole and into the gearbox, tighten carefully and remove the tape.

That's it for this issue, carefully store the assembly.

Future issues:

Issue 27 - Contains the right-hand gearbox cowl & tension rod diffuser plus screws; and has instructions for Stage 3 of assembling the gearbox - Attaching the tension rod diffuser.

Issue 28 - Contains the right-hand upper & lower tension rod diffuser; and has instructions for Stage 4 of assembling the gearbox - Fitting the tension rod diffuser and attaching the cowl to the gearbox.

Issue 29 - Contains the rear upper suspension arms & screws; and has instructions for Stage 1 of the rear suspension -Adding the rear upright lower holders to the diffuser and attach the lower suspension arms.

Issue 30 - Contains a rear wheel hub, and has instructions for attaching the upper suspension arms.

Issue 27 - Contains the right-hand gearbox cowl & tension rod diffuser plus screws; and has instructions for Stage 3 of assembling the gearbox.

Attaching the right-hand tension rod diffuser to the right-hand cowl - This is a repeat of the process described in issue 25 for the left-hand tension rod diffuser.
Fit the projecting shaft of the diffuser stay into the large hole on the silver painted side of the gearbox cowl, making sure that you align the two screw holes and press the stay into the holes of the cowl until it is flush with the cowl.

Secure the stay with two type 'A' screws, being careful not to overtighten.

That's it for this issue, carefully store the assembly.

Future issues:

Issue 28 - Contains the right-hand upper & lower tension rod diffuser; and has instructions for Stage 4 of assembling the gearbox - Fitting the tension rod diffuser and attaching the cowl to the gearbox.

Issue 29 - Contains the rear upper suspension arms & screws; and has instructions for Stage 1 of the rear suspension -Adding the rear upright lower holders to the diffuser and attach the lower suspension arms.

Issue 30 - Contains a rear wheel hub, and has instructions for attaching the upper suspension arms.

Issue 31 - Contains a rear left tyre; and has instructions for attaching the spacers.

Fitting the tension rod diffuser to the gearbox cowl - This is a repeat of the process described in issue 26.
Test fit the tension rod diffuser upper and lower parts to the gearbox cowl to check the fit and where to apply glue.
Apply glue and insert a type 'E' screw through the hole of the lower tension rod diffuser and tighten carefully, (at this stage it does not matter if the tension rod assembly is slightly loose on the tension rod stay).

Attaching the right-hand cowl to the gearbox - This is a repeat of the process described in issue 26 for the fitting of left cowl.
Test fit the cowl onto the gearbox, fit the cowl in place; and to avoid damaging the silver paint, stick masking tape around the screw location area.
Then insert a type 'A' screw (supplied with issue 27) through the hole and into the gearbox, tighten carefully and remove the tape.

That's it for this week, carefully store the engine/gearbox assembly.

Issue 29 - Contains the rear upper suspension arms & screws; and has instructions for Stage 1 of the rear suspension - Adding the rear upright lower holders to the diffuser and attaching the lower suspension arms.

Carefully store the rear upper suspension arms & screws which will be installed in the next issue.

Adding the rear upright lower holders to the diffusers - Identify the left rear upright lower holder, supplied with issue 19, and match it to the left tension rod diffuser, assembled in issue 28.

Ensure the parts are the right way round, then join them by inserting a type 'E' screw through the hole in the diffuser and screw into the hole of the upright holder. Tighten the screw so that the holder is loose enough to swivel.

Repeat the steps for the right rear upright holder fixed to the right tension rod diffuser.

Attaching the left-hand lower rear suspension arm - Take the left rear brake unit, assembled in issue 19. Unscrew the left suspension arm stay from the gearbox, to which it is loosely attached (see issue 24). Carefully set the screw aside, as you will shortly use it to re-attach the stay to the gearbox .

Insert a type 'E' screw through the hole in the lower suspension arm, then screw it into the hole in the stay.
Do not overtighten the screw - the stay should swivel.

Fit the holder on the end of the left diffuser into the hole in the upright, angling it so the screw does not catch, gently push the holder all the way in.
Push the drive shaft into the hole in the brake unit in the direction shown.

Locate the suspension arm stay you fitted earlier against its mounting point on the gearbox, ensure the pushrod fits into the cutout on top of the gearbox.
Then replace the screw you remove earlier to re-attach the stay to the gearbox, this time fully tighten the screw.

Put a type 'E' screw through the hole on the brake unit into the holder, tighten it until there is no gap between the brake unit and holder.

Repeat these steps for the right-hand lower rear suspension arm.

That's it for this week, carefully store the engine/gearbox assembly.

Future issues:

Issue 30 - Contains a rear wheel hub, and has instructions for attaching the upper suspension arms.

Issue 31 - Contains a rear left tyre; and has instructions for attaching the spacers.

Issue 32 - Contains assorted electric circuit parts, circuit base, screws and the injector cover rear panel; and has instructions for Stage 1 of the injector unit assembly.

Issue 33 - Contains the injector cover & left/right induction box halves; and has instructions for Stage 2 of the injector unit - Attaching the rear panel to the injector cover, assembling the induction box.

Issue 30 - Contains a rear wheel hub, and has instructions for Stage 2 of the rear suspension assembly.

Attaching the upper suspension arms - The rear upper suspension arms (supplied with issue 29) are attached to the engine/gearbox with six type 'E' screws, which are inserted through the holes in the suspension arms and screwed into their respective screw holes.

Ensure that you have the suspension arms the right way up.

Start by attaching the tip of the left wishbone to the left rear upright, then repeat at the right wishbone; then fit two screws into the inner two holes of the central plate and screw into place.

Finally, locate the forward end of the left wishbone so that the hole at its very end sits onto the small point to the front of its screw hole, secure the arm with a screw ensuring that the end of the arm sits upon the point. Repeat at the opposite wishbone.

That's it for this week, carefully store the engine/gearbox assembly and rear wheel.

Future issues:

Issue 31 - Contains a rear left tyre; and has instructions for attaching the spacers.

Issue 32 - Contains assorted electric circuit parts, circuit base, screws and the injector cover rear panel; and has instructions for Stage 1 of the injector unit assembly.

Issue 33 - Contains the injector cover & left/right induction box halves; and has instructions for Stage 2 of the injector unit - Attaching the rear panel to the injector cover, assembling the induction box.

Issue 34 - Contains the left-hand upper & lower engine cover's and gold reflectors; and has instructions for preparing and placing the gold reflectors onto the injector unit.
