Another build I'm doing for someone else. Personally, I'm not a BMW fan but this one does interest me as it looks a bit 'retro' nowadays and has a huge amount of detail in it. I'll be getting stuck in within the next day or so - just need to complete the 2nd Lotus 72. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Well, I've started. So far, the main engine is assembled and painted and the chassis floor pan has had a coat of matt black and a dusting of dirt... Engine and carbs installed. More to come... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Many thanks Mark. Moving along on this one. Quite a few bits of pipework added and it's all mostly been given a dusting underneath of dirt/surface grime. The pictures make it look quite heavy and almost rusty but in reality it doesn't look like that - just a misting of grime. Various bits underneath still need a bit of dirtying down. Front wheels etc next... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Thats an unusual brand Roy. I have heard of them before but its not often you see their kits featured. Interesting post as well because i never knew what BMW stood for and now i do :-) Tony Happy Modelling

Many thanks chaps for peeping in. I've done a little more between other stuff this week. Seat is now trimmed in blue and orange leather, as per the kit paint scheme. Assorted bits of wiring etc added and the roll cage is now in. Lots more wires etc to add, and stuff to go around and on the engine. On we go... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Many thanks for the kind comments chaps. This one is nearing the end now. The body is all sorted with umpteen coats of brilliant white but the decals are a NIGHTMARE. Being the best part of 40 years old they are incredibly brittle. They soak in water ok, and slide into place fairly well - the odd breakage. However - when they are dry, they really don't appear to have adhered to the model very well and if you so much as gently rub them, they disintegrate. I tried using decal-fix on one small area. Lucky it was small. It caused the decal to totally orange peel and curl up. So far I've had to VERY carefully match the colours with paint and repair the damage. I'm literally praying that an acrylic clear coat at the end won't cause utter mayhem... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Once again, many thanks you chaps. Well, all the decals are now on. Worst decals I've ever used but that was primarily due to the age of them I think. A few more bits to add then this one will be done... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Many thanks to those who followed tis one. My build diary was pretty limited which I appreciate but that was because I know the subject matter has a limited appeal. (TBH - I utterly HATE BMW's...) Anyway, all now sorted and ready for its new home. roymattblack attached the following image(s):
