STAGE 53 – ATTACHING THE INSTRUMENT PANELPICTURE 31The parts included this time are Instrument Panel x 1 We Also Need from Earlier Stages: Underbody (Stage 51) Dashboard (Stage 52) M2.6 x 6mm self tapping screws x 2 (Stage 50) LED Tester (Stage 28) There are 2 wires coming from the Instrument Panel and these are tested using the LED socket n the test board and all works just fine. PICTURE 32We then pass these 2 wires down through the holes in the dashboard. PICTURES 33 & 34Really important to label the screws as they arrive or trying to work out which ones are needed becomes very difficult as many of them look so alike. Here we use 2 x M2.6 x 6mm Self Tapping to secure the Instrument Panel to the Dashboard. PICTURE 35 And this is what the final assembly looks like. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 54 –THE BONNET 1PICTURE 36The parts included this time are Bonnet Rain Guard Plate Left Bonnet Hinge Right Bonnet Hinge M1.7 x 4mm countersunk screws x 3 M2.3 x 6mm self Tapping screws x 2 PICTURE 37We first off identify the left and right hinges. PICTURE 38These are installed on the bonnet using M1.7 x 4mm countersunk screws. PICTURE 39We then take the rain guard and remove the tape covering the self-adhesive strips already fitted to this part. PICTURES 40 & 41The rain guard is then press fitted into place and that completes this section of the build. So, finishing up this pack its with some frustration that I still do not have the build guide for either this one or the Harley. Also irritated by the fact the build guide is so sure that radiator pipe fits OVER the oil filter rather than under. Its possible I may have got this totally wrong but installing it the way I have looks correct so time will tell when more stages get added. Well that’s it for now. PACK 17 - LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH LP 500S – 14th JUNE 2020 Well here we go with Pack 17.Similar to last month this pack arrived without the instruction guide. Since learnt that these are being discontinued in all of the kits and you are left to download the build instructions from the model site itself. STAGE 55 – THE BONNET 2PICTURE 1The parts included this time are Bonnet Strut Bonnet Mesh L Bonnet Mesh R Guard Plate A Guard Plate B Guard Plate C Double Sided Tape Agip Logo Sticker 2 x 5mm countersunk Screws x 2 2 x 4mm countersunk Screws x 5 We also need to collect some previous parts – namely PICTURE 2Bonnet (Stage 54) PICTURE 3 We start off by fixing 2 lengths of the double-sided tap to the sides of the Bonnet. The lower tape you can see in this picture needs to be fixed so it matches the angle of the bonnet side. PICTURES 4 & 5Making sure we have the correct grill (for this side the one with the mounting post for the bonnet stay (, and press fit onto the tape we have just put in place. We then screw this grill panel in place using 2 of the 2 x 4mm countersunk screws. We then do exactly the same on the right side of the bonnet. PICTURES 6 & 7We then take the Bonnet Stay and 1 x 2 x 5mm countersunk screws. This part needs to be screwed into place allowing the stay rod to still have some movement. PICTURES 8 & 9Next, we take the 3 guard plates, and ensuring we have them in size order, we remove the already installed tape cover and press fit these into place on the bonnet. PICTURE 10And when in place this is what the bonnet looks like. PICTURE 11Last part to do on the bonnet is to fix the Agip label into place and that is all that is needed in this build stage. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 56 – THE LEFT AIR DUCT HOSEPICTURE 12The Parts Included This Time Are Left Rear Quarter Window Left Air Intake Left Air Duct Hose Left Outlet Louvre Right Outlet Louvre Left Air Duct PICTURES 13 & 14We first off remove the “3m” paper from the already installed double sided tape. The connection between the hose and the hose inlet are keyed so very little chance of putting these together incorrectly. PICTURE 15Once joined this is what the assembly looks like. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 57 – LEFT REAR WHEEL BOXPICTURES 16, 17 & 18The parts included this time are Left Rear Wheel Box Left Hot Air Deflector Left Intake Housing 2.6mm x 6mm screws x 9 First disappointment with the kit so far in that the rear panel has some “bubbles” in the paint finish. I just cannot be bothered to raise it as an issue and hopefully it will polish out with a touch of Novus polish. PICTURES 19 & 20We start with the left rear quarter window which has 4 tabs that are press fitted into the matching holes in the wheel box panel. PICTURES 21, 22 & 23We then take the Hose assembly, left air intake and left intake housing and fix all 3 component parts to the Wheel Box PICTURES 25 & 26We then take the left hot air deflector and screw this into position on the Wheel Box. PICTURE 27Sadly, another disappointment with this part. It’s the Left Outlet Louvres and you are told to press fit the 4 pegs on this part into the 4 holes in the Wheel Box. Unfortunately, on the part I have the part will not fully clip into place at its from end and sits proud of the surrounding bodywork. May have to resort to gluing this part in place but very, very reluctant to use any of the superglue I presently have as it’s the sort that leaves a white fog on everything. So, there we have it for this month with a fairly quick and easy assembly of this pack. Bit disappointed with the paint on the wheel box as so far all of the parts supplied have been of the highest quality Until the next time Stay Safe and Happy Modelling. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

PACK 18 - LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH LP 500S – 17th JULY 2020 Well here we go with Pack 18.Similar to last month this pack arrived without the instruction guide. Since learnt that these are being discontinued in all of the kits and you are left to download the build instructions from the model site itself However, to save myself the cost of paper and ink printing out these instructions I have managed to track down a set of the build guides from someone that has already completed this model. So, for that I am extremely grateful STAGE 58 – THE RIGHT AIR DUCT HOSEPICTURE 1The parts included this time are Right Rear Quarter Window Right Air Intake Right Air Duct Right Air Duct Hose Rear Body Support PICTURE 2We start off by removing the backing paper disc from the double-sided tape already in place at the end of the Right Air Duct Hose. PICTURE 3We then join the Right Air Duct Hose to the Right Air Duct. These parts are “Keyed” so there is little chance of getting the assembly wrong. And that has to be one of the easiest and quickest stages so far in the build. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 59 – THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL BOXPICTURE 4The Parts Included This Time Are Right Rear Wheel Box Right Intake Housing Right Hot Air Deflector From Previous Issues we also need the following: Right Outlet Louvres (Stage 56) Right Air Duct Hose (Stage 58) Right Rear Quarter Window (Stage 58) Right Air Intake (Stage 58) 2.6 x 6mm Screws x 4 (Stage 57) PICTURES 5 & 6We start by taking the Right Rear Quarter Window and press fitting this into place in the Rear Wheel Box. Gently does this for fear of cracking the part if too much effort is exerted. PICTURE 7We then fit the Right Air Intake and secure this from underneath with 1 of the 2.6 x 6mm screws. PICTURE 8Next up is the Right Air Duct Hose we assembled in the previous stage. This is fitted in place and again secured with 1 x 2.6 x 6mm screws. PICTURE 9The right intake is then press fitted over the 4 pegs on the rear wheel box. Nice secure fit to this part. PICTURES 10 & 11The Right Hot Air Deflector is next up and this sits down very neatly over the position its designed for. Its held in place with 2 x 2.6 x 6mm screws. PICTURES 12 & 13Last part of this stage is to press fit the Right Outlet Louvres into position on the Rear Wheel Box. This went into place just perfectly and the fit (arrows in pic 13) is spot on. Sadly, the left Rear Wheel Box I had issues with and this part does not fit flush so on that a dab of superglue will have to be employed. And that is this stage complete. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 60 – THE REAR VIEW MIRRORPICTURES 14 & 15The parts included this time are Windscreen Strong Double-Sided Tape Mirror Housing Mirror Base Mirror PICTURE 16We start by removing the backing paper from the rear of the mirror and carefully aligning the mirror with the mirror base before pressing the 2 parts together. The mirror is fractionally smaller than the backing so we want to align these 2 parts so we get a neat, symmetrical edge all the way around. PICTURE 17All that we then need to do in order to complete this stage is to press the mirror/backing into the mirror housing. And that is it for this pack. All very quick and simple on this occasion. Until the next time Stay Safe and Happy Modelling. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

PACK 19 - LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH LP 500S – 23rd AUGUST 2020 Well here we go with Pack 19.Oddly enough this pack did arrive with a build guide. STAGE 61 – THE WINDSCREENPICTURE 1The parts included this time are Roof and Windscreen Frame 2 x 5mm countersunk screws x 5 PICTURES 2 & 3We start off by recovering the windscreen supplied in stage 60. It’s going to be fitted into the windscreen frame but before we can do that, we need to peel back some of the protective film that wraps around the windscreen. PICTURE 4The windscreen is fixed in place using 4 of the 2 x 5mm countersunk screws. I guess the instructions are designed around this possibly being a weekly subscription as at the completion of this stage they would have us put the windscreen and frame assembly back in its protective packing. As this section is required in the next stage no need to be doing that. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 62 – THE ROOF LININGPICTURE 6
The Parts Included This Time Are Roof Lining Periscope Window 2.6 x 6mm screws x 3 2 x 4mm countersunk screws x 7 From Previous Issues we also need the following: Rear Body Support (Stage 58) Roof and windscreen (Stage 61) PICTURE 7We start by press fitting the periscope window over the 2 pegs on the roof section. PICTURES 8 & 9We then fit the roof lining into place and this is secured (holding the periscope window secure) with 6 x 2 x 4mm screws. The arrows in these 2 pictures show were the screws are fitted. PICTURE 10We then take the Rear Body Support. PICTURE 11This is fitted to the roof section and secured in place with 2 x 2.6 x 6mm screws. At this point this is all we do with the roof and windscreen section so its important to store this away safely ensuring it does not get damaged. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 63 – THE BOOT COVER LININGPICTURE 12The parts included this time are Boot Cover Lining Boot Cover Lining Stay 2 x 4mm screws x 3 1.7 x 4mm screws x 2 PICTURE 16Very simple assembly stage here. All we need to do is secure the Stay to the Boot Cover Lining using 1 x 1.7 x 4mm screws. We need to tighten that screw just enough to leave some movement on the Stay Arm. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 6 – THE TAIL PANELPICTURE 17The parts included this time are Tail Panel Tail Lamp LEDs x 2 LED Stoppers 2.6 x 6mm screws x 19 From Previous Issues we also need the following: LED Tester (Stage 28) Main Assembly (Stage 54) Left Rear Wheel Box (Stage 57) Right Rear Wheel Box (Stage 59) Boot Cover Lining (Stage 63) AAA Alkaline Batteries x 3 PICTURE 18We start by removing the battery cover from the main assembly. I will be leaving this off for now and its been on and off a number of times in order to test various stages of the electrics. We insert the 3 AAA batteries. The lead from the battery box is plugged into the test board. PICTURES 19 & 20In turn we then plug in each of the Tail Lamp LED’s to make sure they work. In this case both LED’s light so no problems with that. PICTURE 21We then press the LED into the hole in the rear wheel box. Its actually quite a loose fit. PICTURE 22The LED is then secured by press fitting one of the LED Stoppers in place. PICTURE 23And here we can see the installed LED in place. The same operation is carried out with the other Rear Wheel Box. PICTURE 24Taking the Tail Panel, we locate each Rear Wheel Box in place and using 1 2.6 x 6mm screws we fix the parts together. PICTURE 25Before installing the second Rear Wheel Box we need to sandwich the Boot Cover Lining between the 2 parts. When complete I did notice there is a slight splaying of the parts (left facing arrow) as there is nothing to hold the front section of this assembly together at this stage. PICTURE 26Beginning to look very sleek now. PICTURE 27Just to ease that slight splaying of the parts I decided to put an elastic band around the front section just to keep everything inline. While an elastic band should cause no issues, I did still add a couple of pieces of paper between band and paintwork. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling
