Hi Sean,I will lay the Hull pieces as you can see, these will be dry fitted till I have all the Hull pieces, and then they will be screwed down on a board and stuck together. The board stops the parts twisting and going out of line.(see my Akagi build) I will then start building the other bulk heads etc when I get to the issue That starts the remote control MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Hi everyone, Well I said I would not do any work on the mighty Hood untill the R/C stage. I studied the instructions and realised the build allows for access into the Hull, so I could not resist the temtaition,so I have completed Parts 1 and 2. I used my favourite Long bars(although these are my short bars)to form a jig to keep everything square, what do you think? :- MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Hi Sean, The only tips I can give you are, take your time (on my Victory I have just compleed issue 40) measure 3 times cut once, make sure every rib is square, then you have a good base to build from. The Forum is a wealth of info for first time modellers and pros alike, check all the build diaries, and listen to MR T he has probably forgotten most of what we know, he is a diamond. Regarding R/C this will be my first build where I will totally install the motors etc so if I can do it so can you, we can do it together. Finally if you don`t know something please ask, some one will always help you. Modelling is a journey not a destination. Personally would have secured the base sections to a build board and then clamp around this if need be.

Good start Mike, will be watching with interest. 0n the official website www.buildabattleship.co.ukthere is also an official build site, they are up to issue 4, under the heading 'Guidance' which could be helpful as you can see where it's heading. You should take a look also Sean TIS

I have seen this also but think it just shows a few sample steps and not a build diary. More of a getting started page to show any newcomers what to expect, if they do a build diary or any updates past issue 4 I would be very surprised and offer a MASSIVE appologey .
dont get too excited by it:)
oh and MWG, looking good but as Mr T pointed out watch the clamps, get it screwed to a board mate, superb stuff, I'll be doing mine after the race on sunday and updating a blog;) again!!!

Thanks fore your comments Colin. To be fair, you know I am a big supporter of the Dry Dock system, soon after these photos were taken, this part of the build was securely screwed down on my Dry Dock base board MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.
