I was just reading issues 111-115 of the official build of Sovereign Of The Seas and noticed a photo of a nifty little template/scraper for profiling narrow strips of decorative beading. Is this item freely available or did it only get issued to subscribers of that particular kit? I am sure this subject will have been discussed before but I have not seen anything. If it is available, I would quite like to buy one. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. Chris. PS. More update pics of my HMS Victory build will hopefully be posted soon. Hi, Goddo The shapers you are looking for are out of stock on Modelspace and as we are awaiting the resurrection of Artesania Latina, then I fear they may be hard to locate. If you want to search for some then copy/paste this into your browser. Artesania Micro Shapers No1 Art-27300 Hope this helps Regards delboy271155 (Derek) Thanks for the heads-up Derek. I’ll do a bit of searching around. Chris

I took Derek's (delboy271155) advice and did a bit of a search for the micro shaper set discussed previously. Wow!!! A bit of a shocker (to me anyway) but the kit is available via fleabay from Australia and the postage (£16.39) is more than the cost of the shaper set. Strangely enough, I have decided that it is not such a big thing in my life to have one of these after all.

Yep, that`s the only one I found with a quick search and what you also have to take into account is that you may well get charged for customs services and possibly import duty. Makes for an even more expensive item. Lets hope Artesania Latina get back up and running soon, but in the present climate I unfortunately have my doubts. If I see one on home ground I`ll let you know via PM. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Just found this company, of which I know nothing at the moment. I'll call them later to see whether they are in operation at the moment. Shipping costs are obviously on top. I'll keep you posted. https://artesanialatina....micro-tools-for-modeling

I have been following your build from the beginning and have really enjoyed watching your progress she is a beauty. Regarding the shaping tool ,you could always make your own from a scraper using a file Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

I seem to remember....somewhere.....seeing a razor blade being ground out with a Dremel to create some profiles.

Finally getting round to some more model making and recent progress has been making up the main and foremasts with spars. I also managed to procure the gallery enhancement kit that was available a few years ago. goddo attached the following image(s):

Very nice , the enhancements will make a massive difference to how the stern will look as the supplied yellow plastic windows are a bit of a let down in my opinion Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

You were so lucky to get the stern gallery upgrade. I think it was one of the best changes you could make to the kit to really make it look nice. Never managed to pick one up sadly (usual thing - think about it then its too late :-) ) Tony Happy Modelling

Thank you for the kind comments gents. It is very much appreciated. I am going to post a pic of the windows close up as I think the glazing method was a first class suggestion. It took me a while to get it how I wanted but definitely worth it. Chris

More progress pics. I'm particularly happy with the glazing of the Gallery windows. Not sure if you can see the detail too clearly here. Chris

I wish I would have known about the correct detailing like you do but I initially solely relied on the guide. Very well done.

I just think they look a little better. Not everyone's choice, but I like them. Third toy to arrive was the box of assorted drill bits. With a little bit of diligence, I can keep them sorted into sizes......he said!! third toy looks familiar Roeland attached the following image(s):

I am not sure if I am allowed to do this but, if you can, click on the link below and you will see some superb modelling with equally stunning photography. I expect that someone on here will recognise this modeller but, whoever they are, they have something to be very proud of. https://www.pinterest.co...pin/143411569372154030/
My apologies if the moderators remove the link. Enjoy. Chris

I wonder if some kind sole can help me? I have managed to lose one of the “straight” wriggles that fit above the lower gun ports on HMS Victory. Does anyone have a spare that I could use or, as an alternative, point me in the right direction to get a replacement? Seems a shame (and a long winded affair) to buy a replacement issue from MS. THANKS IN ADVANCE. CHRIS

It might take some time but I would shape a replacement out some left over planking.
