Does anyone know if this steel, brass? I've tried several different metals to replicate one but to no avail.
Thanks,Pat
Hi Pat
Just found mine (put it away in a “safe” place so as not to loose it :-) )
I put mine across a magnet and can confirm it is Not magnetic. Its only the “handle” part that is black painted and what would be the teeth of the key is raw metal. Its a kind of silvery grey colour so i think its aluminium.
I am still some way from finishing my build but when i did test the key i found it was not very good and you had to “jiggle” the thing around To get it too do what it is supposed too.
Just wondering if the switch it activates is of the type “normally closed” and putting in the key makes that switch “open”.
You could try a piece of fine plastic of the correct thickness to the key and that would prove it one way or other.
Hope you manage to get yours sorted.
Tony
