The two side fuel tanks and the rear tank are connected by a system of pipes and this change-over valve. There's a lever to be attached that the driver would operate.
The pipes have to be formed from Alum' rod. That was a bit tricky..

Okay, so I see the reference pictures of the real thing, so where’s the model. Laugh

Just stunning work, the level of detail you’ve created is breathtaking. Love Love

Just catching up with your build Malc - very impressive work, I must say! True engineering in miniature and beautifully put together by a master modeller.

Very well done! Cool Drool

Hi Kev, Thanks for your comments. These Multi-media models can be very frustrating but the end result is very satisfying.

A cast jig is provided for concentricity and alignment of the spokes. The finished wheel slips into the pre-printed tyres.

The jig has to be drilled and tapped M1.4 in 4 places.
I tried to centralise the rim with 0.3mm drills but ended up using a vernier much like a 4 jaw chuck.
The hub was cleaned up and each of the 72 holes opened to 0.5mm. It then gets secured in the center of the jig.

Now the fun starts. BigGrin there are six rows of 12 spokes that get built in sequence from the inside of the wheel. Each spoke has a tube fitted to replicate the spoke tensioner. I bonded a row at a time and let it cure properly before going onto the next row.
I taped the jig to a plastic lid so that it could be rotated more easily and could catch any dropped parts....BigGrin
