It´s been a while since my last entry.

I`ve been working on the decals lately - and frankly it didn`t go that well.
I used Future as a gloss coat before decaling - but had some trouble with with the softening solutions.

I tried Mr. Mark Softener - but there was some reaction with the gloss coat - leaving ugly foggy residuals.
Also Micro Set didn`t work the way i expected.

I then settled for Micro Sol - which at first sight also left residuals - but they vanished after drying.

Did anyone else experiance those problems?
In all the videos i watched - ecpecially the Mr. Mark products were used with future without any problems?

Of course i also managed to attach some of the stencils in the wrong orientation Cursing

Then i destroyed one of the last decals (which was on the sheet only once ) - so had to order the model again just for that one decal!!

So here are some pics of the plane waiting for the weathering.

Hi Walter,

Just found your build and well done to you it looks great, I do enjoy plastic aircraft kits myself, but like you I had a lot of trouble as well with airbrushes.my problem was air pressure to high and paint to thick plus trying to get that finish in one go which gives that orange peel effect.

So what do I do now after spending a lot of cash on an airbrush and compressor I had to get it right, so I brought pre-mix paints so I could see the consistency and copy that when I mixed my colors, which brings me to the point of air pressure I found that you have to be aware that if it is too thin is will run, if it to thick it will clog up, it takes time to get it right but when you do you will find the results outstanding.

For me I mainly use pot tamiya, what I found is when you want to thin undo a new pot and fill to the top with thinners screw back the top shake and go.

ps: Airpressure ajust to consistency ( 15psi.- 20 psi

Regards

Trev

Hi Walter,

It has turned out a very nice build, and I am pleased you have persevered with the airbrush I do like the way you have sprayed the jet engines.
