Hi All,
You might have noticed that we (Alan is doing the real work here) are tightening things up a bit. Even before I started this gig, I was not liking the scrolling needed to get down to the bottom of the page. (It’s like trying to get down to my birth year; the scrolling required makes the arthritis in my knuckles flare up...) We are trying to get things into logical headings, and subtopics.
The new sub forum will be the new lighting and electronics section. MarkWarren is champing at the bit to post a few things. Wabie of ModelSpace Germany does some incredible mods too, and he’s got some cool stuff to share as well.
If you think you’ve got something that you’re good at, PLEASE SHARE!!!
YOU-ALL, are the users though, so if you’ve a suggestion, please comment below!
Stay healthy,
Mark

The 'images' problem isn't getting any better and it is that which creates the pain for me when I visit.
So, has the project been shelved yet again? I know the lockdown seems to be taking the blame for everything at the moment but I would have thought that would be the ideal project for developers working at home.

BTW, while you're on Mark, and I put in a request until the new forum comes along.
Your problem may be with your fingers but mine is with my eyes. Could I request that the default font size be moved up from 5 to 7. Although just about readable, it is uncomfortable for longer posts on the current setting.
Many thanks.

Hi John,
If you’re viewing on a desktop, it’s as simple as hitting the Control and + keys. Control - will down size it, and Control 0 (zed) returns it to normal.
Re the new forums; these have been mapped, and things are progressing. There is going to be a lot more accompanying these changes than just a new look, so it’s taking some time.
HTH!

Yes, I am aware of the various windows and browser options but it would be nice if the text was a little larger as standard.

It would be great to have a brand new site of course but hopefully not having the expense of waiting for something too sophisticated when simple and practical would do the trick.

It turns into a bit of a train wreck if the default setting is changed, I’d imagine. Things like mobile device readability, and so on. This platform is so old and freaky that we are loathe to alter it in any real way. I do hear you on the font size though.
M not at all sure what the new platform will look like. We aren’t a part of the development at all. We just get to roll with whatever we are presented with. (“We” being the FST)

Thanks Mark.
I know this has been going on for years now but an estimated date of implementation would still be nice to have. At least we would know they are serious this time. I don't know if my set-up if different to most others but I struggle to see members pics at all. The 'refresh' option makes no difference to me so I just give up most times.

I wish I could say you weren’t alone in all these complaints, but you’re not. (I know the FST is sitting there, giggling right now...) But, the answer to the first question is, as it’s been for an ice age, is “Soon”. I will be balling VERY soon though, and there is some fun stuff that will happen with the boards. The second thing you mention is the single largest issue we hear about. Only the new platform will cure it. Mark
