As no one reacted to my last post in the site improvement sections, i`ll try it again here:
I wanted to note, that since the changes to the Forum menu - the "New Post" signs don`t show an alert, if a new post is posted in one of the subforums (i hope this makes sense!).
So for example - i just added a new post to the Victory X-section Forum.
But in the forum overview - when looking at the HMS Victory , the " New Post" sign doesn`t show , that there was a new post in one of the subforums.
I´m afraid i missed a lot of posts because of that, as i wasn`t aware of them.
Thanks!Greetings, Walter

Am afraid there isn't anything we can do about this Walter but have passed the problem on for IT to consider. I tend to keep an eye on the Active Discussions area at the bottom of the forum, any new posts always show up there....
Regards
Alan

The problem is Alan, unless you are on here every day, new posts will fall off the end of the list.
DeAg might consider doubling or tripling the length of the list. I know they can do this because it was done in the past.

Hi All,
While I understand and recognize the issue you raise, the lengthy list of topics was becoming FAR too cumbersome. The condensing of the layout was to enable viewing your favorite topics more simple, especially for mobile devices. I opted to go this route as opposed to removing older topics entirely. I was quite pleased with the ease of use, and the appearance being so much more tidy.
Best,
Mark

Hi Mark,
i fully understand the need for condensing the layout - and i am all for it!
But i can`t imagine that it should be much of a problem for an IT-specialist to make those signs shine again, if there is some new post in a subforum.
Let`s hope for their positive Feedback!Greetings, Walter

My guess is that, if they are well on the way to completing the new forum, they won't want to spend any time correcting or repairing this one.
Perhaps Mark could let us know how far off the new forum is, even approximately.

I can't believe no one in the organisation knows the current state of progress on this.

Many thanks Mark. Unfortunately as Walter says, we have been hearing that for 5 or 6 years now.
When will they be here just roughly? January? Spring? Summer? 2022?

Yeah, I realize. This platform has been mapped already. If you look around ModelSpace, you’ll also notice some other changes. I know I’m being vague, but.... Re the time frame, “sometime soon” Best, Mark

Sorry Mark, I think I am a bit confused.
I thought the reason it was taking so long is because DeAg are building a brand new forum.
Is that NOT the case?
The remapping was a temporary change on this forum was it not?

Most companies usually fall over themselves to announce their new services.
