Hi Guys

finally, put my R2 together. After some initial issues with the head movement I now have everything working with the exception of the main status light, it only every shows red or its off, never blue or purple. i have tested the light with the test board in issue 1 and it will display the blue light when attached to the test device. I have checked the cables and reseated them any advice? which part might need replacing?

Regards

Justin

Here is a troubleshooting guide which may help you.
https://forum.model-space.co.uk/...aspx?g=posts&t=32756

It usually means the batteries are not fully charged, check the spec of your batteries as well as checking the status of them within the app.

Hope that helps.

hi

thanks for your reply I have followed the troubleshooting guide and prepared the batteries again just in case but still have the same issue, whenever the light should be purple it's red when its meant to be just blue its blank. for example during charging in flashes red.

A red light usually means a battery issue. What batteries do you have?
No protection, 2600mAh etc

Hi Justin

It might be worth checking the battery box output with a multimeter if you can get hold of one. The instructions are in the guide.

Give that a go, and see what voltage you are getting. If you need a replacement part, contact C/S who will help you.

This is new one on me. Have a look at the distribution board in the dome for any slightly bent pins. If all looks okay contact C/S for a replacement distribution board in the dome from issue 66.

Hi Guys

after 3 months finally got a reply from customer services but all they said was they have no stock of issue 66 so looks like i'll need to hunt on Ebay. I would have thought they would keep some spares should things go wrong, oh well.

Hi Guys

finally got around to fitting new distribution Board, this made no difference the light still won't do purple or blue. I think I'll go for a new light even though it works on the test board. any other ideas welcomed?

It still sounds like a wiring issue. Check you’ve got the lighting connected to the right connectors. It maybe you have the rear and front lighting connected the wrong way round. Bent pin in the socket, etc.

I’d also be leaning towards wiring and connection points. Connect the light back up to test board and move the light and wiring around (wriggle test) to see if there is any intermittent issues. Then i’d just check the solder points on the lled circuit board.
