Well, here she is at last! Considering this was started as a short term D-Day competition build it's taken a little longer than planned but in the end that was all to the good as I've included far more than I ever intended from the initial concept! With all the little rubber moulds I've built up for resin casts on this one, I may well try some other builds in this scale in the future, and with the PE railings and figures I can see some of my decades old collection of Matchbox and Tamiya ship models finally getting out of the old garage workroom and seeing the light of day! Many thanks indeed to all those who have visited the build over the months and for their greatly encouraging comments throughout. I hope you will enjoy the pics below as much as the process of 'putting them together'! Best wishes and stay safe to you all! Robin. It's a really fantastic build. I am really impressed. I would have gone blind trying to work on such tiny parts. The detail you were able to achieve at such a small scale is impressive. Best Regards, Ron

Totally agree Phil, I think the Imperial War Museum would be interested in this. You might get asked to do a commission piece Robin. Superb work.

Hi Robin, I've followed this from the start & I really love it. Congratulations on winning the best model competition. The detail is superb. A museum would love this. Thank you for all your hard work, it won me a prize. Stuart.

Many grateful thanks to all for the above congratulations! I don't know what to say - I really thought the one I voted for would have got it instead but thank you all for the vote of confidence! (I would have posted this in the winners thread but for some reason I'm not getting a 'reply' box coming up to click on!) The prize will be a big (pun intended) challenge for me, in all my modelling years I've only built about half a dozen cars, mostly the old Airfix vintage car series and that was about 50 years ago? The last one I ever did (40 years?) was I think a Monogram 1/35 scale something or other which I painted up with the Yellow, Red and Blue scheme of a Main Force Patrol police car from the first Mad Max movie (with a sawn off shotgun in the rear window!) This will be er, different! Many thanks again, and I'd better get on and PM 'the boss'! Keep safe All.
