Hi All! I have not sent any posts for a long time. In Japan, we also have COVID19 pandemic, and so I have had severe situation and no time to build any models before. Recently, we are almost forced to stay home, I can use a few time to build some models. I guess that DeAGOSTINI Japan may feels this situation a chance to sell their part work series. (This is just my own imagine!) They started some new series at the beginning 2021. One of the such series is a 1:250 model of DDH IZUMO(いずも), a helicopter carrier destroyer of Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. Someone who are interested in this model, please refer to the URL below. https://deagostini.jp/izu/
I made my mind to start building this model and applied for this program to DeAGOSTINI Japan. They sent me No.1 parts from DeAGOSTINI Japan the other day.(No.1 ,2) I will post the building log here. I made two models of DDH IZUMO before. One is 1:700 cruising model with old IZUMO.(No.3,4) The other is a 1:48 diorama of IZUMO where F35B is located on her. There are some vehicles on IZUMO(No.5), I made two fullscratched models for the diorama. One was fire engine(No.6) and the other was Aerial work platform(No.7). The DeAGOSTINI model includes have such vehicles, I am looking forward to see them.(No.8,9,10) I am going to sent building log No.1 soon. Best regards, Yutaro Yutaro HONMA attached the following image(s): DeAGOSTINI 1/250 the YAMATO, 1/250 the AKAGI. Hi All! I send the first log of building DDH IZUMO. They sent me No.1 magazine and parts(No.1) the other day. All parts are pre-painted and pre-decaled, so there are no more battle against smell of thinner. I attached optical fibers at the flight deck parts.(No.6.7) I did No.1. (No.8) Best Regard, Yutaro Yutaro HONMA attached the following image(s): DeAGOSTINI 1/250 the YAMATO, 1/250 the AKAGI. Hi All! DeAGOSTINI Japan send us two magazines fortnightly. So I have to spend one week end time for just waiting. I try to enhance the models of SH-60K ( Patrol helicopter ) and CV22 (Ospray). (No.1) They are 1:250 models and pre-painted with decals.(No.2) I put "washing" on them. It is a kind of paint technique to enhance the shadow of the mold or ditch on small models.(No.3,4)It makes small models more realistic. I put enamel thinner with a small mount of black enamel paint on the surface of the models and wipe off excess thinner with cotton. (No.5,6,7) Best Regards, Yutaro File Attachment(s): Yutaro HONMA attached the following image(s): DeAGOSTINI 1/250 the YAMATO, 1/250 the AKAGI.
