I’m about to order some acrylic paint I was wondering if there is any material difference if any between the two brands? 😎

Tamiya tend to be lacquer based and revell are water based. I never had good results myself with Tamiya or Mr color lacquer based. Using either is personal preference. I use AK paint on most of my builds which a water based. Chris On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

Thanks Chris for your reply, that has cleared a few things up. I’ve never used Tamiya paints before you see. I can imagine lacquer is quite difficult to use by the sounds of it! Many thanks 😃👍

My personal preference is Vallejo paints both model and air, very easy to use and the only paints I use now. I used to use Tamiya but hated the smell and the time it took to dry, Vallejo paints dry quick as there water based. My Favourite Building:- 1919 https://forum.model-spac...=339517&#post339517 -
