What's the proper combination of products, and order of application, needed to use the Tamiya Panel Line Accent Washes without screwing up previous coats?
I've been using these products, applying them in the order shown, several thin coats each.
I wanted to add a bit of wash to the shiny new hardware I added to my seat brackets, and you can clearly see where it stripped away and damaged the semi-gloss clear coat on the surrounding areas.
I've had similar issues in other areas previously, namely the engine and transmission. Fortunately, a smudged engine doesn't bother me. Nonetheless, I would like to figure this out.

Personally I don’t use Tamiya, I don’t like them so I can’t really answer your question all I can do is what I use. With all my models I use a car primer from a spray can grey or white depending on final colour, don’t use any of these special model primers. The only paints I use are Vallejo model or air then once that’s done it’s a coat or two of klear then again once completely dry I use mig panel lines or washes.
