Good evening from 'The Dockyard'.

A few more details were added to the Engine Room this week.

The attached photo shows an overhead valve handwheel, made from the supplied kit, painted and ready for fitting. The two white metal gauges were sourced from a model railway supplier and were painted in their respective red for port, green for starboard colours.

This photo shows the two gauges fitted above each engine.

I made a guard to cover the connection between the engine and bulkhead.

That concludes the update for this week. Next week should see the final part to building the Engine Room. I have to weather and fit the exhaust pipe to the starboard diesel engine, paint, position and fit two crew members and a final oil/rust application to any areas i feel require it.

Thank you very much for all the comments guys, much appreciated.

So, the final push to complete the Engine Room.

The attached photo shows the exhaust pipe fitted to the starboard diesel engine. I also added a few more rusty patches, which would of occurred due to condensation, using a rust coloured powder. Using a smoke coloured powder i toned down the colours on the diesel engine and then mixed the two powders together and applied that in different areas to the exhaust pipe.

The attached photo shows the Chief Stoker [Mechanic], painted up with striped braces and oil covered hands after a bit of on-watch maintenance.

The attached photo shows the on-watch stoker to help out the Chief.

Chief stoker and junior rate stoker on watch in the Engine Room making sure everything is ticking along. I tried to position them so that they tell a story of sorts, with the Chief operating the engines and the junior stoker conducting some valve ops. The Engine Room is now complete!!!!!!!!
