BigGrin Hi all. Derek asked me to see if the jig is any good Cool
I have been having a play with it and in my opinion it's a lot of fiddling about for not a lot of gain.
First the good bits Cool
The jig is very easy to adjust especially with the different size blocks Del had made Cool
The deadeyes fitted snugly into the jig. I used two different sizes, 5mm-3mm .
Putting the rigging rope through the deadeyes was quite straightforward on both sizes.
Now the downside.
I can't see how you fit the shroud and the chainwhale fittings around the deadeye without altering the distance ๐Ÿค”. If you put a bit of glue to stop this happening I can't see how you adjust them after they are fitted.
So all in all good in theory but a bit of a dud.
So I will be using my cheap bit of spare planking and 4 pins ๐Ÿ“Œ
But we'll done to Del for printing this out as I have know idea how this 3D witch craft works Confused
Thanks for looking
Martyn

Hi All, BigGrin BigGrin

Firstly, thanks to all those who have looked in during this test project.Cool

I have learnt a lot about 3D printing in the process and now something about the rigging of period ships that I hadn`t dared even try before.

Now, my thanks to Martyn for his unbiased review of something I had no idea how it would /could work.

I`ve had some fun, mixed with the odd frustration in the learning process of 3D printing and now we know that the jig is a bit of a "Hit or Miss" item. My view is now that its a bit more of a miss.LOL LOL

Regards
