Very nice work Roy, that white bodywork is going to look stunning when the McLaren red is applied. I love the M23, one of my all-time favourite Grand Prix cars, especially when it has the contrasting black 'Marlboro' logos on board.
Well done Roy, this is gonna be a good'un.

Many thanks for the comments Kev. As you probably know, the race team used numerous shades of red/orange over the seasons. My previous build was the darker 'red' colour. This one is going to be the brighter orangey red they also used. More on this one soon to come...

It's been a bit of a while since the last update but it's time to move on... The body has been masked and painted, the dash area is now in place with a load of wiring, seat leather trimmed and a few other bits attended to. On we go. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Many thanks Malc. Ok - the last 2 days have been spent on this one. The engine is now in place along with the suspension arms and a ton of pipe work. There is still a lot of wiring and pipes to add but I can now see the home stretch. I do need to get around to creating the decals though as the kit ones are ancient, brittle and basically shot. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Really on the last stretch on this one now. A few pieces to add and then plonk on the assorted decals - I had to print myself. The kit decals really were shot. I suspect the next post on this one will be in the Completed section. Many thanks to all those who followed this build. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Hi Roy, I'm at a similar stage in my build. Please can I ask you how you got the Goodyear logo onto the tyres? I've been struggling with a stencil with rubbish results so far. Thanks, Simon

I used a white UNI-POSCA fine tip marker pen. It's amazing. Very dense white ink and works a treat. I got the pen from Amazon. It was only a few quid if I recall...
The model was finished several weeks back. It's in the completed section somewhere.
