The cook, keeping busy in the Galley. I'm very happy with the way he's positioned and looks to be engaged in 'pot management'! Funny to think he came from a Revell Luftwaffe set as Ground Crew! . Splash a bit of white on his tunic and viola, a U-boat master chef! Fantastic level of detail, Phil. I am totally gob smacked. You'll be telling me next there are hand made peas in the saucepan? Chris

I`m lost for words............. (10 mins later ) How wide is that galley between the two bulkheads as it looks so realistic for such a small space. I take it that you never messed the chef about on a sub as there`s nowhere to run to when he has a cleaver in his hand. Looking forward to the next update. Lovely work Phil. The level of detail is stunning, just stunning. Wonder if Gordon Ramsey could work in such confined spaces, probably not. Mark

Good morning from 'The Dockyard'. Thankyou for all the comments and i'm sure you'll have a chuckle at the updates i have for you this week. So i started to build the WC with a hinged door, so you could still see the cook at work when it was opened. The attached photo shows the basic shape made from 0.5mm thick acetal, with door cut-out and corresponding door. I then made a toilet roll holder from a small length [3mm] of wooden tooth pick, sanded to a smaller diameter [1mm], with a 0.5mm diameter hole drilled through its centre. I fitted a piece of bent brass wire through the hole to fix to the WC wall. I cut out a small piece of toilet paper, wrapped and glued it around the holder and sprayed it with a bit of matt acrylic varnish to hold it's shape and prevent it from falling apart over time. The next job was to paint the toilet and add the flushing valve. The toilets were made from stainless steel on submarines as opposed to porcelain and were flushed with pressurised sea water and the waste discharged into the sewage tank below. Next to the WC was the vegetable stores. So i bought a packet of after market sacks, made of plaster, which also came with a little packet of loose potatoes. Brilliant! I glued a few of the smaller potatoes into the top of the open sack i had earmarked to use. Although i did feel that the sack and the potatoes could do with a bit more dirt. So rather than mix up a brownish wash, i used the real thing. Yes, i went into the garden, got a tablespoonful of soil, placed it on a saucer, dried it out in the microwave and with a damp brush, applied it over the sack and potatoes.
