Hi everybody.
After some help from Son of Bulwark (thanks mate!) and admin i´m finally able to start my diary.
I`m from Austria, so please forgive me, if my english is not perfect.

I´ve built many many paper-models in my life - but this will be my first wood-model. I know, it`s crazy to start with a ship like the victory, but with all the help that is provided in this forum, maybe it`s manageable.

So far i`ve received 43 issues of the abo - so lets give it a go!
Greetings,
Walter

Welcome DaDokta! Cool

I'm happy to see admin sorted your little problem, this might be a complex build but the fact is with the instructions in the partwork magazines, Tomick Official build diary, the other members build diaries and all the help you can get from the forum, you should be able to make a great looking ship.

It has been said many times before take your time and don't rush.

I look forward to seeing your build diary.

Thanks for the warm welcome :)

There is a question, i have had in my mind for a long time now:

How do you get a thread through those very, very tiny holes in these little blocks?? Is there any trick?
I tried it a few times now - but no chance!
Greetings,
Walter

HI,there are several ways to thread those blocks,my favourite one is to drill the hole slightly bigger.and then I use a tiny bit of superglue gel on the ends of the thread, and don't forget to get a head magnifier,
also some use a needle threader, you know the ones that come with a sewing kit.don't forget to snip the thread cleanly,no little whispers of thread at the ends.cut the thread at an angle so that it is slightly pointed.that should do it.

HI Dakota, welcome aboard. You are in the right place for the excellent helpful tips and advice. It is just amazing how much one can learn from the fellow builders, particularly from those that are way ahead of you. I for one, spend hours trawling the forum and builds. It helps to overcome obstacles and I learn from their mistakes. Take your time and enjoy.
Happy building.
