Hi Phil,
I just love the way you added the flaking paint detail on the wall by the door in your previous post(595 & 598).
The only time I get that effect is when I don't want it!!

Hi Phil, Love your detail, I know sometimes it takes a lot of time to complete small parts and pant them and it may not look right when finished, so you have to start again. I found a small pewter dish in 1/48 scale, which in my mind could double as an ashtray. I found an old pack of rizlas in the kitchen draw from my smoking days, burnt a couple to make some ash and tipped some of this into the dish/ashtray and added some diluted PVA to set it. I then cut 2 x small lengths [2.0mm] of very small, 0.3mm diameter, acetal rod. Wrapped both in rizla paper and burnt one end. Glued both these onto the edge of the ashtray.
